Banana Custard!
Make up a jug of custard using traditional custard powder, sugar and a small tin of evaporated milk + ordinary milk to top up to 1 pint. Stir in 2 thinly sliced bananas and leave to stand for a couple of minutes. The bananas soften and infuse the custard with a nice flavour."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
I do baked apples too, but in the microwave. Only take 3 - 4 minutes. How about pancakes? they can be served with lemon and sugar, or jam or chocolate spread. Bread and butter pud is easy too. Just butter some slices of bread, stale is great! Cut into half so they are triangles. Lay in an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle over sugar and dried fruit (as much as you like) Mix an egg and some milk together, pour over bread mixture. Bake in the oven till the egg and milk bit is set, and the bread is cruchy and brown. I sometimes put marmalade on the bread too.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Reading this thread, you can spot the posh lot
I make microwave puddings, or open a can of pineapple and eat it directly from the can with a teaspoon. Angel Delight is good/easy too - except it's not fast as it takes 2-3 hours to set
Half a tin of creamed rice with a spoon of jam lobbed in is good too .... hot rice pudding/cold jam .... I like to swirl them together and it all goes pink0 -
I thoroughly recommend 5 minute chocolate mug cake.. can be a bit hit and miss but they generally turn out splendidly well

3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
1. Place all dry ingredients into a mug and thoroughly mix.
2.Break and egg and add to the mix, followed by milk and oil and mix up. Finally add vanilla extract.
3. Place mug into microwave for 3 minutes on full power. Allow cake to fully rise and set in the mug.
4. Eat straight out of the mug or tip onto a plate and enjoy0 -

Was going to post this too!:) this is really easy and simple to make. The 3 mins is for 1000W microwave, so keep an eye on it. Mine is 2 mins 40 secs, the cake may also rise over and out of the mug but don't be scared, it's fine.
It's lovely with ice cream or double cream drizzled over it.
also, it might be wise to use a larger than normal sized mug if you have one.

Lemon posset
For 3 people
1 x 300ml pot double cream
75gms sugar
1 lemon
Heat cream and sugar in pan till boiling point, take off heat and stir in grated zest of lemon followed by the lemon juice. Keep stirring and it will thicken to a custard consistency. Leave to cool a bit, then divide between 3 dessert bowls or, if you are feeling posh, 3 wine glasses. Let it cool a bit more then put into the fridge. After about an hour it will be ready to eat, using a spoon and some nice biscuits/wafers.One life - your life - live it!0 -

Tried the microwave sponge pud tonight with syrup, it really hit the spot! Think I overcooked it slightly as it needed all the custard I had made, but was still pretty tasty. Think I am going to get some nutella for next time. I wonder what it would be like with a bit of cocoa powder in the mix? Anyone ever tried?Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0
