Yep, I'll be gone in a week as well as I am starting my job. So it's up to you, MrsManda, Taiko and couple of others to answer all the questions

I agree with this completely! I only have an D grade AS level in Law, a B grade ALevel Psychology and C grade ALevel Sociology (2marks off a B!!) and have just completed my second year of my law degree with high marks.
I really honed my personal statement, explained briefly that my D grade was due to difficult personal circumstances at the time (which was true unfortunately) but that I was passionate about Law and keen to learn, and discussed what I would like to do postgraduately too, showing that I was serious about getting a Law degree and knew where I wanted to go.
If she wants to study economics I strongly suggest she tapers her statement accordingly, mention the low grade but highlight the higher ones, explain why she wants to study it and what she plans to do afterwards. hope it goes well for her x0 -

I have no idea. Do you think her manner was a little *cough* brusque

Do you really think so?
She/he was incredibly hostile to me when I started to post on this board and it was totally, totally unnecessary. I had many personal messages from other users of MSE saying they wouldn't post on this board because of her/his hostilty.
I think that the presence of posters like ONW makes this particular board very unpopular which is a massive shame as it could be a really excellent and useful board, particularly in the light of the current changes in student finance.
I never bothered to complain to the MSE abuse team about OBW but she gave me plenty of cause.
I've never understood why any regular user of MSE thought it was OK for someone to post in the manner in which she/he did.
As a poster who has taken a great deal of abuse from OBW I can say that if I'm surprised about anything, it's that she wasn't banned long ago.0 -
I have to admit I was scared to post here at first but got over it. ONW was mostly OK and quite informative so I just ignored the more "brusque" (good word GeneHunt!) bits. However I thought setmefree2 got a lot of stick here at first for no reason and I was one of the people who PMed her until I got a bit more robust

I disagree, no-one was rude to SMF2, we just all disagreed with her.
And to be honest, if you think she (and others) were rude, I warn you now, never go to the pension forum and ask if you can take your pension early.0 -

Lokolo - OBW was rude and abusive to me. And it was so unnecessary. And this board would be soooo much better without all the aggression.
How many times and in how many ways does MSE have to request that people post nicely !!!!!!

I've just read the first 10 pages of your thread and cannot see once when ONW was rude to you, just disagreed with you, which is fair enough.
I don't see any aggression on this board, and the only time I've seen anything near it is when you came.0
