Hello lovely peoples....
I really appreciate you stopping by :AEager_Elephant wrote: »Hi GA
I saw you pop up on a few of the regular diaries I read so thought I would be nosey and find out about you.
Just wanted to say what a lovely strong person you are to have come out the other side of everything that has been going on.
Looking forward to seeing the SOA.

EE - Please feel free to nosey away, and thank you for your kind words.
The promised SOA has been revised 5 times since I returned to diaryland and then changed again on Saturday ..... Hopefully will be up tomorrow finallyPOSITIVE_AND_FOCUSED wrote: »Hi there Angel,
So sorry to hear of the path life has taken you these last few years. The only advice I would offer for what its worth is try not to stray from your diary. I find these forums offer so much hope and encouragement and we all need hope. I am on my own facing debt with my 8 year old dd. And when you feel alone it does make the journey so much worse than you imagine it could be with the support and backing of others. Thats why these diaries are so important and will help you know that you can and inevitably will get there and achieve debt freedom, and peace of mind along the way. All the best and enjoy your bh.
Postive and Focused - thanks for stopping by and for your supportive words. I empathise with the feeling of being alone, despite living with Mr GA - it does indeed feel like I'm on my own at times. I hope that you're making good progress on your own journey too.aha, found your diary!
am not going to read right now, otherwise no studying will get done, but have subscribed.
xx
Aesop, thanks for dropping in to say hi on my diaryI will try to keep you suitably entertained :rotfl:

Evening Friends, Followers & Lurkers,
Well blow me, I thought time was only meant to fly by when you’re having fun …. Where did it all go to then ? Hmmmm, I reckon it must’ve been Capt Jack or one of his cohorts playing with it again.
Work has been manic, with our busiest period of the year underway. Good for earnings due to extra hours worked, the flipside being not as much “own” time to do things at home.
The ongoing [STRIKE]losing battle[/STRIKE] wayward negotiations with the garden to persuade it to make room for some GYO varieties was rudely shoved over for a flat out sprint on the home-front with reshuffling to accommodate required to fit in the stuff from storage. The house could now give a freight terminal a run for its money with the amount of boxes etc now [STRIKE]stuffed[/STRIKE] strategically placed throughout the place – even the bathroom hasn’t been spared that treatment.
The Wagon’s MOT work hit me with an unexpectedly high amount which not only ate into the OT money I got (that was destined to kill off one of the smaller debts), but also into normal funds. So it’s a real squeeze now to next payday. Trying to console myself that it could’ve been worse – without the extra OT funds, I’d be seriously in trouble. It’s just hard though when you know it would’ve been one debt crossed off the list.
Despite all that, I’ve reached this weekend on a higher note than I’d imagined. After sampling the Rollercoaster, Carousel, Wurlitzer and Big Slide delights over the past couple of months on the work side – it’s now confirmed for my permanent increase in hours, which means in addition to the higher monthly wage packet - I will also now qualify for WT Credits. The Council have also just indicated that I may qualify for a CT adjustment too. It might not seem much to some, but this will be a huge help to us.
I’ve done five SOA revisions since the start of my new diary, figures changing just as I do the calculations to post up. Now I have one further one to do, so it includes the new figures above. I’m adamant that it will be done by tomorrow night. Hopefully then, suggestions will made as to where else adjustments could be made. Still got work to do on my spreadsheets to get them knocked into the format I want.
Think I may need to really stretch myself on the £10 a day Challenge so complacency doesn’t kick my butt just because of my new wage increase.
Think that’ll do for today ….. whatever I’ve forgotten, can roll forward so I have something to say sooner rather than later for a change.

Finally got there with the SOA, (post #2)
It's based on figures starting next month onwards - as I really, really, really don't want to have to re-do it again for a while !
Hoping that suggestions will be put forward by some kind hearted peoples

Hi GA
probably silly question - but have you applied for council tax benefit?
Your electricity looks high too.
even your water rates - are you in arrears with them?
have you done a comparison for gas and electric?
have you looked at the smaller green companies for gas and electric?
I have some ideas about reducing heating costs but will have to post later. We have a problem with a mouse and DH has been great and tidied out under the stairs where the problem is but I need to have a good sort out of what needs to go under there and what doesn't. So will be back later.0 -

 Beanielou, nice to see you dropping by. Yes, the extra hours really are a godsend for me - opens up some other options that I didn't have before. :AHi GA

:hello: Aesop, thanks for dropping in.
Gosh, which to answer first ...
Council Tax - I've been told I may get some "relief" on my Council Tax, but am waiting for confirmation as to what if anything.
Electric - is currently with British Gas, who've recently upped their prices. But yes some of that is what you'd class as arrears from the cold weather earlier this year (we've got old electric storage heaters atm) but it's also because Mr GA is at home all the time - so quite heavy usage.
Water Rates - are quite hefty in this area, but I am a little behind (with permission) so am having to play catch up a bit. I've aleady spoken to them about going on to a meter, just waiting to hear back.
To be honest, I've not looked into switching any of the suppliers, as I didn't think I'd be able to without clearing the current bills in addition to my credit rating's pretty shot to bits right now ?
Would love to hear any tips or ideas you have Aesop - whenever you've got a moment,,, thanks !
Edited to say .. eeeeeek to the mouse .... could be worse though, might've been a rat

In my old rented place, while DS was only a baby, we had rats coming in  I told my LL's son, and he didn't tell his Dad. We caught one in a mouse trap, obviously didn't kill it. Only when I was telling his Dad about it, did they do something!
We had mice last year, a whole different lot of them  blocked the holes that they were coming from. And had to get pest control in, LL here, (new place) was not happy. I said his problem, not mine, that he had holes in his house where mice came in.
Trying to sort this mouse problem before it gets tooo bad like last year!
ok enough about me!0
