Oh no, I have been looking at some of the more unusual items being offered in view of the recent posts and now they are coming up in my OH's ebay page as recently viewed...I think I may have some explaining to do :o

    well done

I have loads of DS clothes to get rid of, can I ask for some guidelines

    1) What labels/price - e.g. are you talking Next or Asda/Tesco

    2) Sell individually or as a bundle ?

I just had a look around the site to see what other people had things up for.

You'll need to set aside a couple of hours (don't try to do it while you're cooking the tea!) but once you start you get into a kind of system with it.

Take back and front pictures if you can.

State where it's from (I had loads of stuff from places I'd never heard of). M&S, Next I priced higher than Asda, Tesco etc. Take into account the condition too.

Factor in your postage cost into the price then you can put the postage as free (I find this helps things to sell, although doing it this way some things might not be worth selling). Can get a list of postage prices from the post office.

Always put a little more info about the itme if you can. If something is slightly worn around hem, or 'my dd always looked gorgeous in this', be as descriptive as you can.

    Have fun!

At least twice a week, I think to myself "If only I had a 3-ft high 'O' right now..." :D

Great if you have unique items like that tho.... chances are nobody else is going to be selling one on eBay at the same time!

I've been keeping my local charity shop going almost single-handedly for months as I had a big clearout and just didn't have time to list stuff on ebay and do the lengthy Post Office queue etc. I've also freecycled a fair bit of stuff too. However, disgusted to read in my local paper recently that the staff from the charity shop (a well-known national charity) have been sacked for taking the 'best' donated stuff and flogging it themselves. No more donations - its ebay for me from now on.

To be fair, the charities do try their best to stop this from happening. Of course, people being people, they will try their luck every now and again. While I understand that it's off-putting, please don't let it colour your view of charities and charity shops forever as I'm sure the majority of people involved are the good guys. ;)

There are a few dishonest people out there but most charity shop employees are trustworthy so don't let it put you off. I work for a charity and would never ever sell something I bought from work. Even worse if they are nicking stuff from work to sell! And that goes for any job but so much worse when you work for a charity

Love the Big O story :)

After 3 trys at listing a book on ebay on free listing days I have sold it for £18.00 plus P&P today. Really chuffed.

Still give some items to charity shops & buy clothes for myself from them but at the moment am having a mega clearout of the house & am finding ebay a good way to go. I try to take decent photos, give honest descriptions & not overcharge on P&P and it seems to be working.
