I found an old newspapaer in the loft at the bottom of a box, the front page was about Bill Haleys death, it was ripped a little folded across the picture so quite fragile , it now hangs in a frame in reception in some USA radio staion.

about 4 years ago, i bought a mobile phone off amazon for £15.00, sold it on ebay new and un-opened, it sold for £55. so i bought another 4, and they all sold with a buy it now price for £50. each. then amazon ran out when i tryed to buy some more. which was a great money earner!!! i also used to go around charity shops to buying cheap name make ornaments like wedewood, wade and etc, paid under £3. for each item and sold them on ebay for £30-£40. each. but charity shops are exspensive now.

forgot to say, we bought a diecast model of a motorbike from studio caterlogue last year, i bought it for my partners birthday, a month later we split up, he said he didnt want the model motorbike, so i put in on ebay thinking i would only get about £5. for it, as i only paid £10. for it. infact it sold for £130. and people on there was asking me if i had any more, as they were collectables. i did not know that at the time, and studio were no longer selling them when i tryed to order another one.
when i told my then ex-he was nearly crying.....lol.

    It all adds up!

Try and list at least 5 things a day that you think may sell for at least 99p, then anything over that will be a bonus especially if you were going to either bin them or charity shop them.

Put a tiny bit extra on your postage to cover your Paypal and Ebay fees, you don't need to go mad and you would have £1750 over the year if you leave gaps for holidays and Christmas when you don't list.

That is what I am aiming to do.

On the first week of the following month transfer a set amount to your building society so that you won't touch it.

I started this in Feb and trans £150 on 1st April and have £250 in my Paypal from Feb. Ok, you will have to withdraw some within the month to pay for your postal fees and packing materials but you will get the p+p paid into your Paypal acc anyway.

    ;)
  • i use to just use ebay for buying but needed a clear out the other month and made over £100 in a week from loads of old dvds.
One big earner was a Harry Potter audio book which i brought for £5 and sold for £30, i have since brought 2 more and im currently listing them now.
If anyone else wants to try this then check your local WH Smiths for any copies of Harry Potter and the half blood prince, I work for smiths and the current price is £5 and the audio books are always in demand as their retail price is around £65.

due to have another clear out this week :D

The ebay board would generally advise you not to do this as it can affect your detailed seller ratings (as buyers can get cross and give you low stars) and thus affect where you appear in search results etc.

Better to use higher starting prices if you need to, or just accept a slightly lower "profit" on your old stuff.
