I caught it because I couldn't under stand why your responses to people were so angry, but then I re-read the posts and saw that you were angry beacuse people had missunderstood your post.
I'm not sure why you got so angry in the first place though.
If I had those replies aimed at me I would have been pretty darn angry about it too, some of you ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
I understood her post immediately and cant see how on earth anyone got confused about the point of the post, there was no need to start sniping and making personal comments.

Seriously folks, arguing with strangers on a web forum just isn't cool!
If people want to have a free bar, not have a free bar, poison their vegetarian friends/relatives/enemies, be miserable all day, fight with the mother in law, hand out £2 bar vouchers, punch a bridesmaid, spew over the wedding cake, trip over their wedding dress, moon the mother in law or make inappropriate remarks to the priest , then it's up to them. Every wedding is different - let's not be so precious!
Bagsy mooning the mother in law

At our wedding I made a slightly inappropriate remark to the MIL, rather than the priest.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

It was 11.45pm and I really wanted to leave. MIL decided that 11.45pm on the night of my WEDDING was the right time to ask me about the arrangements that DH had made with his best men to get the suits to her house (she'd offered to return them for us). She was talking at length about what time she would be in the house and what 'appointments' she had the following day. I interrupted her and said:
"I'm sorry - it's been a very long day. My wedding day, in fact. The best men are standing ten yards away. If you want to find out the arrangements, go and ask one of them. I'm the bride. Suits are the one thing I DON'T have to worry about. I just don't care. I just want to get back to the hotel and climb into bed with my husband"
My brother was killing himself laughing. :rotfl:Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

I usually buy the gift a few weeks in advance of the wedding and sometimes you don't know from the invitation whether its a pay bar or not.0
