Hi Alice. To make a decent profit you have to be reliable and turn up to collect books and drop of orders when you say you are. You may have to drop a book to someone up to 6 times when you first start . Customers need to know that you are reliable and that you are going to be around for more than 2 campaigns. You may find that they have been let down in the past and you will have to build up trust. Avon is not easy money. Unless you work for a huge company and there is no other rep there it is hard work . Books cost money, bags and brochure bags cost money as well as demo products. You get nothing for free. I make hardly anything 9 months out of the year and make a bit more in the 3 months leading up to Xmas. I pay tax on my Avon earnings so it hardy makes it worth while but I continue to do it as I would buy the products from someone else. You may get lucky with territory allocated to you but there may not be any good territory near you. Luck of the draw.I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0

It is difficult to say - I made money from my first camp with avon, I sold £340ish of products, and orders are usually around £400 at a min, £600-£800 between sept-dec, less in Jan - Feb (about £300 perhaps). But - I was lucky with my territory, no-one had done it in a while, and there are lots of ladies who love their avon products on my patch. Those figures inc my DH sales too (we do it together, he is officially a rep to so he has a territory allocated to him, but we do it all as "ours") - though not much of our sales actually come from his territory as it's a rubbish to be honest, the bulk is from "my" territory. If you can sell to some people at work/family/friends that helps to - I don't sell a huge amount to family, but am slowly gaining customers from work (even though I've been doing it nearly 3 years now lol).
The good thing about avon is that you don't pay anything upfront, so if you're thinking of giving it a go - join, see how you get on, thats the only way to find out, as everyone fairs differently, it depends on your area and circumstances. For me, it fits in perfectly round both me & DH working shifts, means I get my toiletries cheaper, and gives us a fair earning across the year. WIthout avon we wouldn't have afforded to get married last month as we just don't have much spare cash once the bills are paid even though we both work full-time.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

I'll second this. For several reasons territory is my main source of orders and if I'd not been able to get a large-ish patch to work my earnings could have been minimal. I think someone had done it a few months before me on some of my roads (saw their books left out along with mine), but it was telling that none of my customers have ever mentioned this other rep.
Be proactive about getting more sales. If you want more territory then ask because at first you're usually given a modest area to work. It doesn't mean that's all that's available, though, so when you're ready to expand see what's out there. You can sell to anyone you know, advertise and if people approach you drop a book to their house (even if it's outside your allocated streets).I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Hi, I've been asked to find out for my most regular customer whether Avon cosmetics, particularly the lippies contain gluten as she has recently been diagnosed with a disease of the small intestine which means she must avoid it, does anyone know how I go about finding out whether products contain gluten?Wins 2012: £50 Love2Shop voucher, Lets Dance tickets, Juan Zelades CD, bluetooth speaker, Blackberry 9360 with £30 credit a month, Chocolate, Maybelline Goodie Bag, Hunter wellies!0

My MIL is also on a gluten free diet and can use all avon lippys etc. Gluten contect would only be a problem with anything she is actually eating. Its not like a nut allergy where any contact on skin, etc is a problem. hope that helps0 -
Hi all
I have a customer that urgently wants some products for the weekend. Can I order from C16 and will it arrive before Friday?0 -

If C16 is your current campaign the earliest products can arrive is with your scheduled delivery.
If you're now in C17 you could do an additional and backorder from brochure 16, but it's highly unlikely they'll arrive before Friday. You wouldn't be able to guarantee your customer a delivery date and if they need things urgently I think they'd prefer to just go to the shops for what they need.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. Had to happen eventually. A Betterware rep who also does Avon has put flyers out. I got one delivered to my house so I presume the rest of my territory has been flyered as well. I've had it for some time and feel like I've got the majority of customers, but I'm re-canvassing during C18 and giving postcards to all houses who said "no more brochures". Will there be much point if she's done the re-canvas for me with these flyers?
I've passed her details on to the ASM so we'll see what happens. Flyers are nowhere near as bad as canvassing with a book, but they're still canvassing...I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here.
