  • mammato1, thats a bit harsh that they didnt show up to help you! I already had my order done and told my SL and she still came out to chat to me anyway, gave me my new books and made sure everything was going well.

My order was just short of £300 in customer sales, I did however order around £100 in products and giftsets to try and sell on at a boot sale or something this month. Fingers crossed!

Everythings utterly manic here though. Started a new job on Monday and while I was there OH was at our new house waiting for the removal men to move us in! Avon order then went in on the Monday evening, Tuesday was unpacking, today was working again and tomorrow is more unpacking and a job interview and driving lesson followed by working Friday while the Avon arrives for OH to bring in. Roll on getting settled in this house so I can really get stuck into driving more sales :)

When you were putting the order in, were you changing the drop down box to campaign 15 for each item when you put the item code in?

Yes, yes I did - still got a message it can't be ordered - maybe it was a special price only in 15? Don't know but this is half of the order of this customer who wanted to withdraw her order so I thinj she won't be too bothered.

    wow! 300!

I don't know about carboots in your area but in mine they are great for bargain search not for selling. I went last Sunday and bought myself brand new Avon nail vanish for 25p and Naturals lovely body lotion for 25p as well, anew eye cream (blue) for £1.50 and anew face mask for another £2 more to try it out myself than anything else. I may give nail vanish and body lotion as freebies lol.
And when I went to sell at carboot a few weeks ago it wasn't great had to pay for the table and then the sales were crap as of course everyone is looking for a mega bargain.
I don't think I would consider selling Avon at a carboot = perhaps a Christmas fete or sth but it might be just my aarea.

Good luck settling in new house:-)

Put my first order in - just over £188:j

    WELL DONE .

I called her yesterday and texted twice today asking her to drop in, bring brochures 17 and oversee my order placing. Guess what?? She even didn't bother to say she wasn't coming! I spent a day sitting at home for nothing!
I was hoping to leave some brochures 17 with a few customers so that they could have a look when I am away (10 days) but of course I can't as she let me down again :-(

    Anyway I'll better finish packing.

mine has been the same, never came to show me anything, feel really annoyed that she just signed me up for the numbers basically, I haven't seen or heard from her since she signed me up.
Just learnt things off here and connects .....which I think is a really useful site.

    Good luck to you. Xxx
    Now married !!! :love:21/06/11 :T.

Re self employment. Just put your home address and your full name as the business details.

Also, I'd be careful about giving out free gifts as your customer may come to expect it every time. I've been a rep for 7 years and never given out free gifts....and it's not done my sales any harm :)

I do give free gifts in certain circumstances. X spend if I am trying to increase a particular customer's spend, or first order of X or more. It initially began as I booked to do a table at the local Primary School Xmas Fair, and despite knowing (or because it gave them the idea) they started being 'an avon school' where they claimed a % went to the school. Most of my territory were parents / grand parents at the school so I wanted to give them an incentive to be my customers.

Result of Free Gifts for me: Repeat sales as I ALWAYS give something they have never bought to get them to try it. I have very good, regular customers. I never spend more than £1 on a gift, usually less.

I would say it depends on your circumstances, not something to do every time, but can work out well. Also, look for something different eg the planet spa face mask gift set had individual sachets in it. they were in clearance for £2 and had 12 in each pack. Splitting them up and giving customers one or two with their order has doubled my planet spa sales.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???
  • magicbunn, do you have contact details for your AM? I would actually email them to complain that you are not getting the support you need to get properly started. Very silly of these people to NOT help you as you are potential money for them!

I got a text today telling me out of the new recruits in my "area" I had the 3rd highest sales. Pretty pleased with that and looking forward to the free gift new starts get for hitting the £148 (or whatever it is) for the order :D Still need my printer set up and time to get the books out again (they havent been out in over a week :o ) and really looking forward to my delivery tomorrow! I can see me skipping off the train home from work tomorrow excited to hunt through my boxes :D

  • So angry with Avon right now - and have sent an e-mail saying as much. A good customer of mine ordered the country rose fleece blanket and have just seen on my on-line invoice that it is completely out of stock (not getting any more). This was in the C16 Christmas booklet with no warning of while stocks last and also is still available to purchase through the Avon website. I really don't get how they can treat us reps like this - the amount of time we spend pounding the pavements to get business for them and then they can't supply us with our customers orders.
Sorry - rant over. Had to get it out - DH is fed up of listening to the complaints!!!!!!

Try ordering it as a customer on the website. Not ideal, but at least it will keep your customer happy. Make sure you go through Quidco to get cashback as well. You can always order enough to get free delivery, and have some returns ;)

  • For those wondering about that £50 bumper pack, mine was great! I got hair products, lots of make up, some of the pandora like beads and other jewellery. A few moisturisers too, so pretty pleased with it! very much so worth the £50 IMO. I am also sure I got sent 60 items rather than 50? At least after i checked my invoice thats how many extras I had left over :D
