Along with the C15 books I got given this morning, I also got the C15 clearance books. Is it worth giving these out? I've heard a lot of the time the stuff in there is sold out, so would this be especially true as it's now a campaign behind?

Smoosh, must say I never give out the sale / clearance books as I just hate to let down my customers with OOS. My customers tend to have a budget and if their stuff is OOS I don't think they spend the extra on the next campaign.

Streets in another Avon area - apparently it's near-impossible to have streets in another area allocated to you. The ASM of the other area has to prioritise the reps working in their area (it all helps towards their bonuses and targets). If they hand streets out to reps from outside the area it leaves them with less, and therefore less sales, to give to the SLs and reps working in their area. It's worth a try but all I've heard on Connects is frustration from reps who live right on the edge of an area, surrounded by other reps, with no streets to go to or expand into. Signing up in the other area would be a solution, but be quick cancelling your contract otherwise you need to wait 8 campaigns before signing up under someone else.

Thank you, makes sense. I think I'll do it, not happy with that area at all and the AM said she would help with things and nothing happened.

Went through connect and couldn't find how to locate AM
  • I had my first ever email from my Am today.... to tell me she was leaving the job to become a trainer lol, I hope the next one gets more of a chance for me to talk to them :)

I was so good today, got up and got the littley out to school and then did a 30 min brochure drop before heading to the airport! Cant wait to pick them up on Monday, hoping to boost the sales figure a bit more :D

re the above posts, this is my opinion as a customer:
my rep always gives the clearance books out.

I know there is a possibility that the item may be OOS, but maybe I've just been lucky because I've always got everything I've ordered from the clearance books.

Actually, joyfull, if I found out that my rep wasn't giving me the option of a potential bargain (e.g. I saw the clearance book at a friend's), I'd stop ordering from them and find an alternative rep.

If I KNOW there are major stock issues, as there were with C15 clearance then I don't give it out. As a rule though, I do. If it is just one or 2 items I either warn my customers, or put a post it note on the sale book stating which items are currently low, and all items are subject to availability.
I wouldn't give the C15 one out now, personally. There is another one with C17, and the Xmas one with C16. That should be plenty to be going on with :)
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

I gave out C15 sale books on backorder seeing as I'm in mailplan A (and I was too lazy to remove them all since the books were prepped ;) ). An Advent house appeared in stock on my invoice online but it's been credited to my account as a separate order so I don't think it'll show up.

I also ordered alternative items for everything possible ordered from clearance. Even if they cost me more from the main brochure. According to my invoice I won't have to use any of them.

I won't be putting out C17 and C18 sale books because of the major problems. I would at any other time of year (even with the problems).
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

i know its still fairly early but what do people do over the xmas and new year hols. I dont really want to be delivering books or orders in this bit but now sure how SL will react if i dont put in order. Do most people do perhaps just a friends and family order? Do some of you include the 2 books together so nothing is missed by customers?

Just need to sort it in my head ready - thanks

I've done Avon for many years and I've observed that the clearance book bargains are pretty much duplicated in the main catalogues. Each rep is on a fixed mailplan and some reps will always get first pick of the clearance items and some (like me) will often find them OOS. Every main catalogue has MOST of their items at a discounted price, whcih occassionally appear at full price in another catalogue. I have taught my customers to watch for the discounted price and work hard to point out the bargains and show how much I value their loyalty and custom.

I'm a creature of habit & plod around dropping catalogues around Xmas, although I wouldn't drop a catalogue (or pick one up) on 24th, 25th, 26th or 1st Jan as I feel I don't think that is appropriate. I'm always surprised at how many people still order.....
