Merry Christmas & a happy new year to everyone :)

Might not be on here much the next couple of weeks as we are currently having our kitchen done! We are either very brave or stupid doing it this time of the year!

  • happy Christmas everyone. Many thanks for everyones words of encouragement and advice over my first 2 campaigns. Its a great having a place to go for help, advice and general talk.

  • Hi, I may have imagined this but did someone refer to a brochure that you have and friends/family can also buy from it so you get a discount?
I have pretty much made the decision to give up Avon but have a family member and friend that would order from me still and am thinking this may be worthwhile.
    Thanks

What you're probably thinking off is when MC refers to friends & family 'clicking in' to getting a discount from their own orders. Depending on how much you order this is a great thing to do rather than just leaving - you don't need to order every campaign to keep your account open, if you order MoV from the brochures between you, you'd obviously everything at a 20% discount, but the main way 'personal' reps get a discount is from the hello tomorrow mag - as you don't need to spend a certain amount to get the products at a discount from there, the price you see is what you pay regardless, and usually works out at 30% less than the brochure price. Just bare in mind that orders of less than £10 will incur delivery charge, but you could always add some bits to your order to avoid this & then return them. And that most products you can only order one of each from HT, apart from the clearance. If I was to ever stop being a rep this is what ill definitely be doing as it still saves you money :)

Hello People - I created this document spreadsheet when I first started Avon a month ago and have just refined it a bit more. I use it to record my customers, contact details, and to monitor where I'm upto with each customer on each campaign in terms of whose got a book, whose needs collecting, who didn't leave the book out, who ordered, who didn't, how much and any notes. Just thought I would share. It can be found here http://www.avonconnects.co.uk/docs/DOC-6462 (hopefully that link will work). If anyone has suggestions on how it can be improved, do let me know and I'll update and share if I can. Please note under 'status' - its a series of drop down options to save you having to type! Also, remember copy and paste to save time! I use this instead of the calling book, so that I have a neat permanent record.

Just some of my thoughts / ways, now Ive done 2 campaigns, that I thought I would share:

When I am out and about, each book has the door number/a bit of the street name on the very top of the order form (poking out) so that I know where I am dropping books off (no need to carry a calling book). Then when I collect books, I just jot down the streets and numbers I need to call on, from the spreadsheet that I have of course had recorded where I intended to drop books of at.

I find it easier not to have a calling book as when I used to help my sister out, we used to find the slightest distraction meant you would miss a line or forget to cross something off on it. So no book for a address means you cant accidently deliver to the wrong house. Also by recording the house number and a bit of the 1st line of the address on each order form, it means that should a customer order or write you note but forget to record their name/address, it doesn't matter because you've done it already.

I've also decided that after around 6 months of canvassing (5 months with my sister and 1 month on my own now I do Avon in my own right and my sis doesn't) that I am concentrating on the 65 regular/sometimes order customers and 10 friends/family and won't be dropping off to all 300 houses anymore until I recanvass in the spring/summer.

I think that If there is any going spare that I might ask for more territory.

This latest campaign 2, that I had to submit was a bit pants, but I've managed to earn £35 after taking £15 off for books, bags etc. But hey, I was fully expecting a pants campaign after the fantastic pre-Christmas built up. Plus I have heard of some people only earning a couple of quid, so £35 is a welcome bonus towards the holiday fund as the money is kept separate from the other halves wages/tax credits so that it feels like we are actually getting something from my doing Avon. last month, it bought my other halves bonus Christmas Present (a tablet computer) that I would not have had the money for otherwise. Its stuff like that makes me think, that whilst I'm not earning masses, it does actually pay for things!

Right, I am rambling because the other half is asleep and I'm bored.!

    Take care people

    Sam x

    Cheers, Sam

Happy New Year to you all.

May our customers multiply this year
may each one double their usual orders
may every house recanvassed leave their brochures outside
may it not rain on brochures left outside
may everyone be in when we go to deliver
may the more disorganised amongst us remember to prep our brochures in advance
may avon never use the out of stock or sold out words
may all our deliveries be complete and undamaged
may my experience of the so-called presidents club customer services be the exception rather than the rule.

may my experience of the so-called presidents club customer services be the exception rather than the rule.

I've started to notice this as well. I always gave them a good write-up in surveys but the last few problems I've had have taken a few attempts to sort out. It's not so much the staff as the lack of information available to them, so they think what they're doing will sort it but it won't.

2 lipsticks with purse - took about 3 attempts to get the right one and I was told 2 different reasons for the problem.

Name change - did this over the phone because I thought it would be quicker than doing it online. A week later and it's not changed online. I ring up and it's changed at their end but the esuite and Connects seem to run on a separate database so I had to do that myself, which surely they should have known?

Name change #2 - my surname's all lower case which means I'm last on the alphabetical list (should be first). Rang to ask for it to be put in all caps. Woman says she'll do it and it'll be within 24 hours. I politely say that I had trouble last time getting it to change across the whole system and she's a little huffy and repeats that it'll be done within 24 hours. Of course it wasn't and it's still all lower case.

Wrong line number in HT - sent out an Anew eye cream instead. Person on end of phone says this will "definitely" send out the right one. Check the online invoice and no it's still sending out the eye cream. Still waiting to see if the latest tactic to get it to arrive will work.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • havnt been on here for a while!

hope everyone had a very merry christmas and new year :)

i was considering giving up avon as i was getting fed up of it but i like my HT too much!!
however, my boyfriend mentioned holidays later in the year and so i have decided to keep avon up and put my earnings towards this and this is my motivation now :) so will be re-reading some of this to try and gather tips!

trying to get more organised too and keep an eye on my earnings so i can keep them seperate.
last few campaigns havent been great for me though.

    wish me luck people!
and good luck to everyone else in the 2013 campaigns :)
