See how you get on with uni, I have a couple of sales leaders that might do one or two appts a week, take the odd campaign out etc, it is just a second income for them and I love sales leadership - made some great friends with other sales leaders in my area, plus the bonus of getting to go to Live Your Dream - fab conference in August!Avon Sales Leader in North Kent Since July 20110

And Avon's taking over my kitchen!
Christmas is a good time to go through your boxes of acquisitions (freebies, creative ordering goodies etc.) and get rid of everything that you aren't 100% sure you will use. I do just Christmas cards to my 'not so regular' customers, couple of cheapie items for 'small order regulars' and clear out my overstocks on my 'bestie' customers.
Now's the time to pick up a few bargains from the clearance in HT or other promotions such as the mix 'n' match at the back of brochure 14. You don't have to give a little gift but it helps with the goodwill.
Although my sales do go up in C17 & C18, many of my customers are picking up bits and pieces all year in preparation for Christmas. My customer base has expanded quite a lot over the last 12 months which helps pick up the shortfall in sales and for the first time I anticipate that I will make Presidents Club.
I only have up to C18 for delivery dates (my C18 is on 19/11) so C1 will be before Christmas and C2 in no mans land of end Christmas/New Year. As I said before, I miss C2 but ensure I have C2 books so for C3 my 'besties' get C3 & C2 brochures whilst the rest get C2 only. This time of year gives me a chance to adjust who sees which book and I can try to split the customers evenly into current and backorders. I also bring the backorder customers into the current brochure in the run up to Christmas (ie. do 2 brochures for 1 campaign) and have been know to give my besties both a copy of the current plus backorder. Severely limits the scope for creative ordering but increases the chances of an order.

Leannemarie - I would try to get more brochures even if your SL needs to charge you for them. Or put them on a short turnaround (2 days or so) and you could cover quite a few houses before the next deadline? Expired brochures and slips have worked for some reps but as a customer I would be unlikely to ring for a brochure. Having said that, I have been rung for one several times in the past so perhaps I am not the norm? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I recently ordered two items for my daughter from this website. The page was the same as the genuine one and I assumed as it said 'Us' it was one in the USA. How wrong I was. The total I spent, including postage was £105.00.
Then I discovered that they were actually in China. Warning bells rang that the merchandise wouldn't be genuine so I e-mailed asking for a refund. Apparently it had already been despatched. I got the parcel today, the workmanship is shoddy to say the least and one of the items was NOT what I ordered. However, on going back onto their site there is a big message saying it has been closed down as it was a fraudulent company. What is the chance of me getting my money refunded?? As a single parent £105 is a lot of money for me to layout. I have e-mailed them again but as yet no response, where do I go from here???:mad:0 -

I've been rung 3 times out of over 100 cards put out (this was to recanvas houses who'd asked for no more brochures). It turned out all 3 used to have reps and now needed a new one.
Apart from that I think it's very unlikely people will ring. It relies on them (a) knowing they want Avon (b) remembering and taking the time to ring you and not losing your number!
Leanne - you could order in extra brochures to blitz the area in chunks in the run-up to Christmas. I find that prepping a large number of books in one go, dropping them and collecting them in one go is the most time-efficient way to work. It would be a shame to miss this time of year because it's when our best sales come in. If your uni work means covering your territory isn't possible you could always hand some, or all, of your streets back. You'd keep the customers you've gained but it frees things up for another rep to canvas to find other customers.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I've found revanvassing with expired brochures useful - but - I only suggest doing it after you've covered an area thoroughly, then a few times a year you can drop an expired brochure round houses that don't order (but haven't said that that they don't want a book), then if they've changed their mind or there are new occupants they have your details. I'd say ask your sl if they have any spare books you could have, chances are they'll have some you can use even if they're back order brochures (ie from the previous campaign rather than the current one).Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I have good credit rating and doesn't own Avon any money. I am thinking about joining Avon but I am quite heavy (22 stones), I am currently walking 1 hour a day to see if I can lose some weight so I could drop the Avon magazines on my walks and earn some extra money. All Avon sales rep I have seen are pretty and slim, I have lost a lot of my confidence since putting weight on and I am really scaried of singing up and then once I meet the avon seller face to face she will just think I am too fat to reprents their brand and dump me, this would really drag me down so please be sincere to me: is there any restriction on who can sell avon? do you have to look good? I love perfume and moisture, bath bubbles etc but I am not one to wear make up, do you have to wear a lot of make up and look great meeting customers?0

Hi Luizarios!
I am 34 weeks pregnant and have 1 toddler already, my days of "looking good" are past me for the minute!!
I do always make sure:
My nails are painted nicely with Avon polish of course!
I smell nice (people then often ask you what it is and you become a walking tester sample!)
Hair tidy and presentable
If I am feeling up to it a slick of lip gloss!
I don't wear any other makeup as a daily rule and I am sure that i've seen on here reps that are actually allergic to some of the Make Up!
Don't forget your Customers will be normal women too and unlikely to look like they have stepped out of a magazine, they would probably find that type of rep quite intimidating.

Exactly what has been said above - I hardly ever wear make-up, certainly wouldn't call myself glamorous in any way shape or form. Anyone can be an avon rep, so long as they are 18+ - men or women. The best reps are those that are friendly and keen, nothing else matters hun so what are you waiting forAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
