Iwhen I see a baby in a buggy, I no longer think "how lovely", I think "How lovely the mother could be an Avon Lady of the future" and pounce!

Sounds harsh, but also funny at the same time - this technique is known in my area as "Buggy Bashing"!!!! I tend to buddy up with another SL to do door knocking as i feel more comfortable having someone close who knows where i am and will check if i'm not out of the house in a while... and occasionally i get asked "shall we go do a bit of buggy bashing today instead?"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meaning go to the high street instead! lol

Am I right in thinking that SL can order brochures cheaper? I have no idea where I got the idea from but it wont leave my head!

We used to as we didn't have the initial charge for books just 48p per 5. However they changed that, so we pay the same as reps now. Understandably sl were annoyed - we dont get refunded for books a lot of the time and especially when you're a new sl getting your books a bit cheaper was a great help.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

We used to be able to buy all our books at the additional pack price but that changed a few campaigns ago - we now pay exactly the same price as reps. Only PC members can get their books slightly cheaper but PC packs are in multiples of 20 and it works out @ 58p/pack.

  • Sigh. I was hoping that was going to be a major bonus point. Oh well!

Have never come across a limit as such.... Once Avon refused to credit a member of my team for returning £150+ until they posted a copy of the returns note but whether that's their policy or they were just being awkward, I really don't know.

Quite often my team members leave their boxes to return with me i.e. if they're on holiday etc. and the carrier's never refused to take the quantity of boxes I had to return.

Know what you mean about stock mounting up (pretty sure we all do!) I've bought plastic stacking boxes now so I can see what 'bargains' I've got on hand. Luckily I have a spare bedroom although it's more like my Avon stock room now. :rotfl:

Thanks for that :D I only have a sideboard to keep it all in and its so full I can't fit anything else in or on top of it so its taking over the dining table as well. I'll do a mega sort out tomorrow and try to juggle the items around so I can return as much as possible in as few boxes. I will check stuff against this campaigns orders though ;)

Yes, always a good idea to check your orders in case you already have it in stock (unless you bought it at a higher price of course). Also worth checking your oldest invoice for anything you have in stock i.e. to make sure you don't lose the opportunity to return it for credit.

Sorry, no longer a huge bonus albeit SLs don't get charged for their books until two campaigns later, the idea being that you are buying them for your new sign-ups so it gives you two campaigns to use them and to then be reimbursed when your newbie places their first order above MOV. Unfortunately though we only get reimbursed at the additional pack price.... :(

Or keep a spreadsheet - for those of us who love any excuse to make a new one! :j I tend to leave it 5 campaigns. So the sheet states the item, how much it cost me, how much the credit will be (sometimes more than the cost ;) ), when it was bought, and which campaign delivery it needs to go back with. Anything bought in C10 is going back when my C15 delivery gets here.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • Hi all,

I am just about to start my Avon journey (for the 3rd time!:o) and I really want to stick at it and make some dosh for a change!

Anyway, my question is this. Do any of you have Avon as your main source of income or do you have another job alongside?

Sorry to be nosey, but I am just curious if anyone here devotes all their time to Avon thats all. It will help me decide a few things.

    Thanks x

  • Hi all

Am a newbie to the forum & to Avon too! - on my 2nd campaign now

Thank-you for the info on the 1st page ......... soooooooo helpful!

Just hoping that you wonderful fountain of avon knowledge peeps could help me out? My SL is very backward in coming forward to help so am muddling along on a wing & a prayer.

In C14 there is the offer of a shining beauty set for £3 when £12 or more is spent on selected fragrances - how many beauty sets can be ordered??

My customer has spent £33 on the fragrances in the offer and has ordered 4 beauty sets.
The way I read the offer, was that for every £12 spent 1 beauty set could be ordered, therefore my customer could only order 2 sets at the special price.
My Husband disagrees and says that the offer states when £12 or more is spent then the sets are £3 each, therefore my customer can order as many as she likes.

Does anyone know the 'official stance' on this offer?
