Oh okay! I was always wondering how a few members on this thread make a lot of money through online sales, but they didn't want to disclose their secret!

Any ideas on the AVon parties?

    thanks
    kathy

Re credit limits - it used to be that it was done at cost price, then it was changed so that the limit told was for brochure price. They may have changed it back again now knowing Avon, but usually I find unless you have a very bad credit history, you can go over and your limit will be increased (providing you aren't over by a ridiculous amount), or they will let you pay the difference.'

    Morning All,

I went out to collect my first batch of brochures yesterday first order was £47.50 which was a great start, however the rest was very low.

A lot of my regulars havent ordered this time, although I am adding to my customer base each campaign which is great.

I appreicate some people wont order every campaign, just wish I could increase my sales per customer however Im going to do a bit of a push for C15 to try and increase this.

Well done, that's a nice first order. In such cases you may like to think about giving them a little gift as a 'thank you; you were the highest orderer in my current campaign'. No-one else knows, of course, what your other customers order so sometimes I do a few to encourage the high orderers. ;)

On the other end of the scale, sometimes it helps to offer a free gift with orders over £10/15/20 depending on your normal level of orders. In C15 you have a great opportunity to offer a free gift and then order the amount you need from C14 out of the items @ 5 for £5 Haven't checked the forward brochures but chances are you'll look more generous than you actually have been and hopefully encourage forward sales of whatever gift you give. :T

    Good luck.

your order limit will double (i think) on each subsequent order... up to a point i am sure, so for each order after that it will be higher, most people only have a credit limit problem on their first order. But it can't be moved for the first one as you are building your reputation with avon, once you have a good history of paying off and ordering regularly you'll have less problems. :)

    Yep thats exactly right :)

Have double checked, and it looks as though the credit limit is still full order price (ie customer price rather than rep price). But, as I say sometimes Avon increase your limit slightly so nothing necessarily to worry about.

Incentives - well I'm in the process of phasing out my last ever one. It's a loyalty scheme, which is why I can't just stop it straight away. I've done all of the following incentives, which were well-publicised, and the following happened:

    - money off each spend (during C2 to encourage even small orders) - no-one deducted their money off from their total on their order form. I did anyway in case they were still expecting it. I bet many if not all of them just didn't notice.

    - free gift with all first orders - no-one added their free gift to their order form.

    - lower-than-brochure-price offers - several people still ordered the more expensive one.

    - % off for referring a friend - no-one did while I was putting these extra order forms in. Now that I don't many customers have mentioned they pass the book onto friends/family (not saying "so I want my discount", just letting me know they do that).

    - loyalty scheme - noticed a few things: 1. People who were spending around £5 are still spending that much. 2. People spent £9-odd even though the min spend was £10. 3. Overall I didn't notice any change to ordering habits. People who don't spend every time still don't, order values are about the same.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I used incentives from quite early on because I was in direct competition with the local school. I have very loyal customers who are very good at sharing their books with f&f.
I have found though, that they like 'little treats' better than they like a whole free product  ie when I split the planet spa face mask gift sets out as free gifts they were really popular. Lipstick samples take longer but if you match the sample to the person I find they do order the product as they get in to the habit of using it.
I am going to look at ordering things I can break down into little 'pamper packs' and offer them for sale. See how they go.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

Yes I've found sometimes incentives make no difference - this time I'm doing free gift when they spend £10 or more (need to clear some space lol) - a customer who regularly spends over £15, only spent £5 this time, and the other year I did if they spent £5 or more, they got entered into a prize draw - BUT - everyone who spent £5 or more got a 10% off voucher....had no end of people spend £4 odd!

I still do my free gift with every 6 orders (regardless of value), and different offers through the year (free gift when spend x amount, offer a new product at a discount etc), just to keep people loyal to me - I always think, if I do *no* offers what so ever, and someone at their work starts, they might well swap to them. Whereas ordering from me, they have a reason to say to their work colleague, sorry but I already have an avon lady. If people like your service, they'll stay loyal to you - I've found that when giving out free samples at recruiting stands - no trying to get customers, just offering free samples, and people say "sorry but I already have a rep". My reply is, if you like the sample, then you can order from your rep. that always confuses them lol.

Thanks, L, and sorry peeps for giving wrong info. :o I've always thought it was invoiced price. Wonder why we get such 'nice round numbers then' (NOT!) such as £267.... LOL

  • Anyone know if they're doing a matching conditioner for the new 'Beautifully Behaved' Shampoo?, Seems a bit silly there's only a shampoo in the book.
