I was imagining that pigpen washed out the mooncup first then put in dishwasher. Its her own human secretions she is cleaning out, bit different to an rodent?

I have to say despite my acceptance of tampons I have always asked that DD wear a pad overnight simply because she can sleep for 12+ hours on a weekend and I feel anything over 4 or 5 hours is too long without changing.
you put up with that laziness???

This post is a godsend. I've been worrying about my daughter starting her periods for the last four years as she's exceptionally tall, but she's nearly 13 now and still not started, which I'm very thankful for. Other mums don't seem to worry but my daughter struggles a bit with things sometimes, and as I had heavy periods, she might too, and it's no fun.

I'm interested to know about the teen ranges, as my daughters very skinny and only wears age 7-8 knickers. Most towels seem quite wide. I think I'll make sure I've got a selection of stuff available so she can decide what she prefers.

    Thanks everyone for your insights.

Another question for mums, assuming reverbe is male as we dont usually describe what we do as shoving a bung up the chuff!!

Do you/your girls use feminine wipes or baby wipes. Just wondering if thats another gimmick as there is quite a price difference.

I think the older you are, the more amenable you become to the idea of using a mooncup. I would invest in one, but I have enough Tampax to last me until the menopause...
not necessarily. I wouldnt be happy/comfortable manouvering a rubber thingy up me foof nor having to wash it out etc..:(

I understand you wash but if a young girl is in school with blood everywhere possibly dried on (sorry for tmi) then its quite difficult to go out and wet toilet paper, go back in the cubicle and clean herself. Wipes are more discreet in that situation.
