Whilst I agree with you, the highway code says you don't give way to people who don't have right of way, one of my pet hates, often people who do this don't think about what's around them, giving way to other vehicles that don't have right of way puts cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians at risk.

Totally agree i see this every day, the other motorist is at a stop sign!
Though the OP would be at fault its the car in front thats interupting the flow of taffic and one of the reasons there are trafic jams which concertina back.
I dare say if car in front had have done that on his/her test they would have failed. Along the same lines some years back a police man in a jam sarnie told me regardless of what your speed is, the other person is at fault if it causes you to alter your speed or swerve. Too many motorists taking liberty on this nowadays.

Also OP should have been alert and observant seen it coming, thats what makes a good driver, as above put it down to experience.

Oh come on. The OP was "still shaking" when she posted, why get the smart phone out and post on MSE about it, surely there were more important things to do.

Why the new account.....you weren't banned by any chance were you?

    No, I wasn't.;)

But the car in front of that was the one stopping the other car in front of the OP from moving forward. Not so much that car "had stopped in the middle of the roundabout to let someone join further round," but maybe it had joined the roundabout without giving way, causing the other driver to stop.

I think the OP needs to review her lessons about maintaining safe stopping distances behind other cars and anticipating changing traffic conditions.

Don't worry, I am sure another ban is imminent.

Can you please evidence where I was previously banned?

Well I would have thought that "new" account was a dead give away.

The car in front of me was stopped in the middle of the roundabout, she had stopped to let another car in further round the roundabout.
I moved in as it was clear and as i was driving in i checked the right lanes and when i looked back she had stopped. The other driver had let the car in

Flyboy you think wrong. Well in fact you don't really think about things at all do you?

Advanced observations are what its all about and what you are lacking.

That is something you should have anticipated, or at the least not allow it to make you to be still shaking when you wrote your OP.

You need to learn that something like this happens nearly every day and if it leaves you a quivering wreck, you need to chose whether driving is for you or not; nervous drivers are dangerous drivers.
