OMG that looks awful, poor you.Just a couple of questions as I dye my hair quite a bit.Have you used this brand before? is it semi or permenant colour? I always see on the instructions that if you have a tattoo is can cause a reaction.Well I have a tattoo and thankfully have never had a problem. Please tell us the brand etc.0

How rotten. So - what changed in between you doing the skin test and the treatment?0

i have used the dye for many years and never reacted before the hair colour is cozmic blue but dont want to name in full at present as i am seeking legal advice0

that is true, you can suddenly become allergic despite using the product many times before, i was fine with latex for years then suddenly started having reactions. I now have to have latex free gloves ordered in, cant touch certain things e.g. baloons£27.76/£2018 in 20180

the hospital said that the skin test is unreliable because you can become allergic to something over night basically
It's not so much that it's "unreliable" as that it does not provide a 100% guarantee. It probably does provide a 99.999% guarantee (or higher) ; 1 person in 100,000 might have a significant reaction.
On the same basis you could ask for almost anything to be banned. People can spend years with no reaction to substances and then develop an allergy.
I've eaten mussels many times in my life but a year or 2 ago I had a reaction which caused breathing difficulties. It was a bit scary.
What I have to accept is that it is ME that is allergic to mussels, not that they are inherently unsafe. Maybe the product is not to blame but it's actually your body's reaction.
If we banned everything that someone is allergic to, we'd have very restricted lives. :cool:0
