    OK plan of action

    1. Buy Lee stafford hair growth shampoo, condition and treatment 3 for £12 in Boots. DONE.

    2. Buy hair skin and nails capsules (with biotin) DONE.

    3. Massage head. DONE.

    4. Put wide toothed comb by hairdryer instead of brush and switch to a lower head setting. DONE.

    5. Not using hair straighteners unless necessary and using a good quality protection spray.

    6. Not dying hair with permanent colour but using the 6 week ones.

    7. Exercising more.

    8. cutting my own hair by the dusting method only when necessary.

    9. taking a photo now and then every 4 weeks to monitor progress!!

    10. Not giving up when I have a bad hair day and having it all cut off!!

Thanks for all your input, keep the ideas coming your all great:T:T
  • Biotin is good for hair growth, it's better taken as a B-Complex vitamin rather than just biotin on it's own. B vits are water soluble, so go for a timed release version to get the maximum benefit. If you take it with vitamin C you will absorb it better.

Kelp can also help with hair growth, but seek medical advice before taking it if you have any history of thyroid problems.

  • Agree with the others about not having your hair trimmed quite so often.

    You could also try this:

It's expensive but not full of chemical nasties.

Can you tell where I can get Kelp from. I couldn't see it in Boots, does it come in a tablet form?

I have used the Lee Stafford products this morning and my hair feels lovely! Having a good hair day today:)

Does massaging conditioner on the hair actually make it grow? or is it the scalp being stimulated that can help? Confused.. I could try both I suppose.

This was a tip I got from a hairdresser as I used to have the same problem - top grew faster than the rest.

Probably no help at all but the menopause seems to make my hair grow thicker & faster, and when like me you are broke this is an expense you don't need. :rotfl:

I agree with everything flippin36 said, go look at the longhaircommunity.com forum. Don't be put off by the fact that it can seem a bit hippyish, or that a lot of people there have really, really long hair. The advice there is generally to look after your hair, and how to do it. Type your hair and start from there :)

Sounds like a good plan. I bet in a month you will have an extra 1/2". Some people use an old white tshirt and a marker pen to keep track on their growth. Let us know how you get on.

You can buy kelp pretty cheaply in Holland and Barrett, and in most other health food stores, it shouldn't be more than a few quid for about a month's supply.

As a rule of thumb with natural supplements, it will take around three months for you to see the full benefit for you. You may of course see a difference straight away, but if after three months you're not impressed with the results then it's time to stop spending on it :money:

ETA it comes in tablet form
