Afternoon All
It has been persisting down heavily all day
Have been MIA for a few days because it has been a really topsy turvey week.
Sorry for DD Molly x x
DS only passed one AS exam and that was Maths - he failed Physics and Chemistry - another one who worked hard and didn't get what he wanted, but we are concerned when there are no marks up for his course work for any subject ???????? - He is not going to sit his A2's, he is going to college instead and take that route with the possibility of an apprentiship.
I have ended up dog sitting a friends dog for 10 days  she was let down at the last minute so I said that I would have him, he is a lovely natured springer spaniel with a huge character and he has been no trouble so far.
DD won £100 on a scratch card so that is a nice treat for her birthday week (22 on Sunday  where do the years go)Happy Birthday tired Mum I hope it has been a good day for you x
Dinner tonight is chicken crumble
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Worked hard today, both in work proper and in housework, blitzing the bedrooms, three in all.
Sorted through my books and stuff to sell on Ebay.
Tried to do a good deed...our cat came running up with a vole in it's jaws, the vole was squealing and I thought I'd do a charitable thing and save it's life before the cat choked it to death.
So reached out my hand to take it from the cat and the little !!!!!! bit me! Quite deep and all, bled for ages and my thumb is now throbbing. who`d`ve thought such a tiny wee thing could inflict so much pain!
So called the doc, got the locum and yup, into the surgery for a tetanus jag tomorrow, groan.
From now on the cat can be as OS as he likes, feeding himself off the fat of the land. I am not gonna rescue any wild beasties."Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!"0 -
:TWell done to all the A level results! I remember opening mine and deciding at the moment i didn't want to go to uni :rotfl:
And Sistercas - great new too
OH is home  not in the tractor today though :rotfl: he's asleep so will leave him as he's probably shattered!
IT's autumn now, the rain is terrible!
I went to waitrose and got some great bargains - mini pork pies for 35p and some double cream for 15p (can i freeze this?!) also got a loaf of bread for 15p!! So spent about £5 on essential bits.
have had a rubbish few days at work so don't feel like going out anymore... will stay in keep warm and drink tea.

Bramble make butter with it, butter is soooo expensive these days, I only make my own using reduced double cream, You can freeze the butter
Evening All.
DS1 started High School yesterday, so far, so good. OH started his new job today, looking good there too, so hopefully it will all work out. His first job is a clothes store in London - I had never heard of it, so I googled it, the stuff is nice, kind of mod-ish (think Fred Perry style polos and skinny trousers), but I was aghast to see some men's polos for £95!! That's half of my food budget for the month  Don't think there's much chance of him spending all his money at work :rotfl: Good thing is, his employers will pay for his food and expenses whilst he's away, so I will have some spare budget for us, with which I plan on bulk buying loss leaders and flour and tomatoes.
Well done to all our kids for their results, even if like Molly's DD you never got what you wanted, you should be proud of what you achieved! My OH failed all his Highers (we were too busy snogging I fear) but has still had a good and successful career in a job he loves - its been a bit tight financially now and again but that's been no fault of his own. I on the other hand was a girlie swot, got a very good degree, and work in a call centre :rotfl: (Which is actually a job I thoroughly enjoy and suits me perfectly right now despite my frequent moaning
)
Have a nice evening, Camelot, I know you will be busy just now, hopefully seeing lots of baby Amelie, but can we have a picture please?
Happy Birthday Tired Mum :bdaycake:

I would be questioning his tutors....although I'm sure you've already done that!jackieglasgow wrote: »..... My OH failed all his Highers (we were too busy snogging I fear) ...
Yep, another one of those here - I blame the DS's dad...he was 21 to my 17, had a job & drove a sports car, there was no chance that I was going to study to go off to uni & leave him behind! :rotfl: :rotfl:0
