wow can not believe how fast this thread moves. nearly 50 or something pages like that since I last came on here, so it will take me forever to catch up.
3DPO for me. Not sure if I did enough bd dancing this month to be successful as had a really busy few days with xmas parties and the like.
Really getting in the christmas spirit, as my kitchen smells of cake and xmas puddings. Found the ideal way of getting OH's attention though, made a scrummy steak and guinness pie for tea, with baileys and chocolate mousse. Was practicing the mousse for when my friends come over for our christmas meal. Was a success with the OH though, and really yummy. I love cooking.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
I can't have normal milk but get on fine with LactoFree milk...maybe worth a try?I had to try lol. It is just post-ovulation symptoms and is not doing my diet any good.
I gave up on having cereal for dinner and had a jacket potato instead. I am worried about having soya milk now and this means no cereal
I'm on Metformin!Does anybody here take it, a friend says she takes it and has lost about a stone (slowly) and its made her feel sick. Interested to know how others are getting on with it.
It made me feel really sick at first (I weaned onto it though, didn't jump in at full dose straight away cos I'd heard others really struggled with it and didn't want it to set off my IBS) - but persevere after a couple of weeks it's fine
I have lost weight, but I've been trying to too, though I daresay it's helped at least a little.
Since going on Metformin and losing 2.5st I've got my cycles down from 100+days to just under 40days
Go on damnyouautocorrect.com SO funny!Hugs for everyone on CD1 or having a hard time.
This made me laugh today until tears rolled down my cheeks, so thought I'd share with anyone feeling in need of being cheered up. Warning, it is a bit rude, and not at all related to ttc!

I get this too Tinks. I was caught by surprise by quite a lot after BD, then nothing for hours. Like the BD dislodged some and then the rest came when it was good and readyConfuzzed.Dot.com..............
AF due today and this morning DH & I BD'd and after I went to bathroom and thought OK AF started and CD1 fine if a little
Since then NOTHING............have done an internet cheapie and BFN so I just just late??????
I just feel like giving up with this whole TTC thing. I can't even get to the point where I'm able to even try let alone successfully conceive. It all just seems so pointless at the moment.
Sorry to hear you've not managed to catch a break yet FA
For you...

Firstly, :j on the normal test results Time2deal2ba3c. I took Metformin for a while when I was younger. The reason it makes you lose weight is actually because it makes you feel sick all the time. Not too bad, just a slight nauseous feeling which tends to mean you don't feel like eating. I did lose a reasonable amount of weight, but it was a one off thing. The next time I had adjusted to the medication and I felt fine - which meant no weight loss! So it is good and bad. No idea what else it does to you though in relation to ovulation and pregnancy related diabetes though.
Second - although the losing weight might be a result of the side effect of nausea with Metformin for some people, that's not supposed to be the primary reason. Metformin is a diabetes medication which helps your body break down sugars properly (which doesn't happen with diabetes and ladies with PCOS who also have some kind of impaired glucose tolerance (like myself)). Because of this malfunction, it also sends the hormone balances (that we need for ovulation etc) skew-whiff, hence they often treat ladies with PCOS with metformin - to help with the blood sugars/insulin response, with a knock on affect on the hormone levels, and therefore the ovulation. If you don't have impaired glucose tolerance (or diabetes), Metformin is less than likely to do anything to help you.

How did mother/aunt and counselling go?Still working through those auto correct quotes. Definitely needed today:)"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Went well, bit sad that my aunt didn't want to see the pictures of the boys (I know they can be distressing but it just looks like they are sleeping
) The counselling session went really quickly, we discussed the letter we got from OH father. Not sure if I have mentioned it before but to sum it up was very much "pull your socks up and get on with things" and "you can't miss what you never had". Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

Maybe she is scared of the unknown - worried that they won't/will look how she imagined...?Kitten_Pie wrote: »Went well, bit sad that my aunt didn't want to see the pictures of the boys (I know they can be distressing but it just looks like they are sleeping

Nope, you didn't mention that, that I recall anyhow
Why did he send a letter in the first place? Just to say that??
"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
I can understand why she didn't want to see them, and with most people I am fine if they don't want to. I think it is because she is family. Finding it hard that I have to ask people if they want to see pictures as they might be distressing rather than thrust them under peoples nose like most new mothers.
OH dad is old fashioned and the more I read the letter the more I think it is just his way of trying to help and fix things. We sent him a copy of the poem I posted informing him what not to say and it was as though he used it as a tick box exercise and pushed every button. OH was furious!
It worked well at the counsellor though, was a good talking point for the session.:) The SANDS support couldn't believe it was from a father to a son:eek: Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

I think you're probably right there, it'll probably just be "his way", but man oh man can it be upsetting/irritating/frustrating/rude/insensitive/etc etc I can only imagine how your dh reacted, especially if he's anything like mine! dh is supremely protective of me too, so if I was upset by it, he'd positively flip...
Do you think your dh is benefiting from the sessions?
I was falling sleep at my laptop so I've put it away and come to bed with phone and now I can't sleep again! Grr"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0
