So what's new?;)
ikkle I doubt I'd be able to cram enough folic rich food to make up the 400mcg a day that can be the difference between having a child with brain abnormalities or not. It really is the tiniest tablet, always on some kind of 3 for 2 etc offer in the supermarket, and is the first and often only thing (barring bd) that docs recommend. My sister first mentioned it to me and I thought she was being melodramatic, til I looked it up on the net! it's actually recommended by some that all ladies of childbearing age take it, regardless of ttc or not, as it's considered that important in the first few weeks of foetal development
ETA: " it would be almost impossible to get enough folic acid just from food; the only way to be sure you are getting the right amount is by taking a supplement."
Happy birthday dj and kp
