Ok, here goes, apologies in advance if this turns out to be a mammoth post!
mrhappy had his GP appointment tonight to discuss his SA results, so off we both went. He had also been asked to take a urine sample. She checked his urine and said that seemed ok, although there was a little blood it in, which turns out to be fairly normal given the physical work he has been doing this week, but he has to hand another one in next week to double check it as that may indicate a urine infection.
His SA was basically no swimmers, making it extremely unlikely that we will get pg. IF he has a urine infection that could contribute to the lack of decent swimmers. Also, the quantity of the sample for SA was very low, in comparison to what he normally produces, again, that may have been a factor in the low results. Towards the end of the summer he was quite poorly with several issues going on, a blockage in his bowel, urine infection and inflamed prostrate. Again, these may all be contributing factors to this result.
Soooooo, another urine sample to done next week to rule a urine infection. SA to be done again in a weeks time, and depending on the result for that one, if it is a bit better another SA in a month or so, to make sure that being not well a few months ago is right out his system. There is the possibility that all that stuff has led to todays result and it will improve, and there is also the possibility that it won't. If it remains the same then it's back to the doctor for another chat. I don't really know where things will stand with my referral to the Assisted Conception Unit, as I would think that there needs to be some good swimmers there to take any of that further.
I am pretty gutted, but trying to keep a hold of the glimmer of hope that it is due to him being ill, but feel as if I'm clutching at straws. He has gone very quiet and keeps apologising for letting me down and then I feel worse!
We have had a chat about it, and at the end of the day, even though it is not what we wanted to hear, we will have to wait and see what happens with the next SA. If it turns out that we won't be able to have a baby, we will just have to accept it and move on. We have each other, The Teenager, our health and our families-a lot to be grateful for.
Although I feel crap just now, I want to make him feel better and don't know how to..............
Sorry for being such a miserable moo on a Friday night, but I feel so much better for getting all of that out x0 -
MrsHappy - (hugs) keeping my fingers crossed that it is just DH illness and his next SA will be better. But whatever happens, don't give up hope till you hear what the doctor has to say.0

Aww big ((hugs)) honey.
I'm so sorry it's not the news you were hoping for.
From what I understand of these things all the problems your DH has had recently will most likely have contributed to the results. This is why they never rely on one SA. I think stress at producing the sample can also have a huge effect especially as you said there was a smaller amount than usual.
Sorry I can't be of much use, my knowledge in this area is limited but I wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and have everything crossed that the next SA brings better news.

Sorry to hear MrsHappy, hard news to hear. Did you get any advice on things hubbie could be doing to improve his count? This board is so female centered, I wonder are there such places for Men to go and talk about what they could be doing??0
-
I am very sorry mrshappy. I wasn't on earlier so have only just caught up on your news. I can see this will be a lot to come to terms with for you both. Big hugs.0

mrshappy, I would still hold out hope until you have more results. It sounds likely that the recent problems have had an effect.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500
