Secretdebts... Yep, is the short answer;)

    Welcome dreamer

Where's everyone been today? It's been unusually quiet...

I can't sleep. My friend's brother's fiance had a miscarriage at 15 wks today and I can't stop thinking about the whole family... :(

CD25 for me & AF due any day.

Usual AF symptoms but thought I would use an IC this morning.

BFN - wasn't expecting anything else - but would have been good to be surprised.

It's only month 2 of TTC although I've been off the pill for 8 months. I suppose we were NTNP before the last two months although if I'm honest, we didn't BD enough to have much of a chance!

When it is OK to go to the GP. Time isn't on our side (I'm 40 & OH is a few years older). I suppose we could add a few months on when we tell the GP how long we have been trying?

I'm thinking that we will have another month of trying & then visit.

We have private medical insurance, has anyone had any tests through private insurance - or is it not covered (I appreciate I'll need to check our policy but it's through my OH's work so don't want to ask yet).

Think I'll use OPKs & cough mixture this month - obviously for different reasons. I just read it back & it looked like the two went hand in hand!

Could someone remind me which medicine & when.

Hugs to all who need them today. TTC does make you emotional about others TTC journey - but remember that's just because you care & it makes you a lovely person.

I would pm, but atm I'm lousy at replying (mainly cos it's harder to do on a phone :o) cos I'm barely at my computer... just ask Euro ;) (sorry Euro!!)

Don't you dare apologise! I know it's harder to reply on the phone, and I know you've got so much other stuff on your plate, so I'm not expecting any speedy replies. Don't put any extra pressure on yourself over a message, it's so not worth it.

*waves* hi ladies. Big ((HUGS)) for all of you! And all the SBD I could find *throws it around the virtual room to ensure everyone gets a good covering*

Welcome dreamer. I'm sorry you're having a rough time of it. I don't have PCOS myself but there are a few ladies here who do and might be able to offer you advice.

    ((hugs))zippy

Secret debts as Zippy said the answer is yes. It's probably down to hormones.

TTC40 I think if you are over 35 then the doctor will see you after six months of trying rather than a year. So if you've been off the pill for 8 months I'd just tell them that and you should get some action from them.

I think the cough medicine has to have robustin in it but I've never taken it. Nicki I think knows which it is. Grapefruit juice is also supposed to have the same affect (increasing EWCM).

    :) Good morning ladies.

I hope everyone is good, hugs for those who AF has got this month and everyone else who is having a rough time.

I have been popping on and trying to catch up, but so much goes on here!

    Welcome newbies and returners, hello!

We ar just plodding on here, waiting for mrhappys doctor appointment on Friday to see what was "abnormal" about his SA, meanwhile I'm getting stuck into the grapefruit juice, cough med and soy, concieve plus is on standby for nearer ov. After all, it only takes one swimmer! PMA!

TTC40, I would get yourself along to the doctors -I went to mine after a couple of months as I didn't get a period after having the implant removed and she referred us on after 5 months cos of our ages, (I'm 38, he is 47) mrhappy is going through the SA stuff just now, I have had bloods done and I got a letter in from the hospital to say they have a 6 months waiting list and will be in touch. I couldn't fib about how long we had been trying as it was my GP practice who took my implant out!
Although it is a bit stressful getting tests and waiting for results I would rather know what we are up against with this, that is just how I feel about it personally. I would find it very difficult to keep trying and being disappointed if there is a reason for it not happening, if that makes sense.

    Huge hugs to everyone xxx

As far as I remember the active ingredient in cough bottles is guaifenesin-tescos own has it in it. That's what I've been knocking back with gf juice-revolting! But, I have to say that I'm CD7(ish) I think-will check later, and have noticed a huge difference in CM this month-I have totally skipped sticky and creamy and have loads of thick watery-not quite egg white, but it's early days. (apologies for tmi!)

Did you both go together to the GP? OH & I are at the same practice so we could - although he would (typically I guess) be very uncomfortable. It's the waiting list bit that concerns me - if we leave it another couple of months & then have a 6 month wait it's just dragging it out.

I wouldn't mind paying for some quick initial tests (within reason), like SA - but I suppose the starting point is still the GP?

I have a regular cycle although in the two months I've been monitoring haven't shown a peak on CBFM. (I know I've said this before but I assume everyone is like me & gets a bit mixed up about who siad what!)

I went on my own to docs, mrhappy had a different GP, so I had him transferred to mine. He went on his own to organise the SA when I "asked" him to ;) He wasn't very comfortable, but as far as I know he went and just said that I had sent him, so she knew exactly why he was there :rotfl:
I also didn't want things dragging out which is why I saw my GP fairly quicky and she has been brilliant, mrhappy and I had discussed paying for initial tests, but my GP got them all done on the NHS within a very quick timescale. Different areas probably have different waiting times as well for specialist appointments-we are in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS area.
    Good luck x

TTc40 I have private medical insurance and got some tests covered by it. But this was because I was not having periods so it was classed as a gynae issue. It covered blood tests and scans. Anything definitely fertility related such as sperm analysis, IUI or IVF or fertility drugs was not covered. And this was some time ago, and my FS is now not approved by any of the insurers because they have realised that anything he does will be fertility related.

ETA You can self refer to a FS (privately not NHS) if your OH is funny about going to a GP he knows for a referral. The FS will still write to your GP and tell him and get any info he needs from him, but saves any embarrassing face to face conversations.

Still no AF today and no more spotting, but cramping and temps dropped again. Af due tomorrow. Bizarrely even though I haven't been entering any symptoms for the last few days other than temps and CP, and my temps look bad my points score on the pregnancy estimator is going up fast ???? Go figure. I think next month, I will just hide that bit of the chart. My VIP trial subscription runs out in a few days time. Is there any advantage to renewing it before AF shows? Is it cheaper then?
