Hang in there Emsbet, I know the smallest thing can be a difficult reminder of what could have been so don't beat yourself up if you need to cry (and boy is wine good at getting the tears flowing!).

Thanks :o

Big ((Hugs)) to all those with BFNs and AF..... or suspected AF.

Had our 6 week appointment with the doctor today, who has given me a clean bill of health to start driving again. She also said that we should wait 3 months before TTC however having taken us over 2 years to get the first BFP I don't really want to wait any longer. Especially as this time last year my cycle was 94days.

FF is showing some weird temperature readings, my temperature dropped dramatically with egg white cm but no +opk. It is now on the way up. Any one know if it is possible to ovulate the first month after birth or whether it is likely my body will skip?

Its my birthday this week and also the boys induction date so think it will be be a bad week.

I've just had a quick google and apparently your periods should start again between six and ten weeks after giving birth and so you would ovulate about two weeks before that. It does sound like you may have ov'd or be about to.

I too was told to wait three months before trying again, but we aren't. We are NTNP until after first AF then I will start with the temping and OPKs again. The way I look at it is if we weren't meant to get pg so soon after giving birth or mc then our bodies wouldn't ov. From what I've read it's more to do with the psychological aspect of grieving for your loss than a physical thing. It also makes it easier for drs to date the pg if you've had at least one AF.

Be kind to yourself this week.

xx

I've actually just found out the week from stress-hell has been extended to monday, as my dad's having his op then instead of December! :o
RE Clomid - I've started it this month and all I've had is dildocam to see how my ovaries are doing. They said I don't have to have bloods done (don't know why though), but I think this is something they may do with others, hth xx
:rotfl: at dildocam - did you have that just once around CD14? Did it show if you'd ov'd? Do they want you to have it every cycle you're on clomid til you get your BFP? Do you feel any different being on it? Is it stressful keep having to go for scans? Sorry for so many questions... I really should write a list for when I'm actually in front of the consultant :o (Who I'm really hoping will be a woman this time! It's been a fella the last twice!_pale_)

ETA: Sorry ladies, I can go ask on the 12m+ thread if it's more appropriate :o

How are you doing? :)

Good thanks, naturally worried but I've got a better feeling about this pregnancy than the last one :). I'll be more relaxed at [STRIKE]12 weeks, 6 months, when the baby's born, when the baby's one, when the baby's 18,[/STRIKE] in about 30 years maybe! :p

That was my thoughts too. Started temping 2 weeks after, more so that I can get an idea of what happens and couldn't help but start the opks. We were meant to be NTNP too but think I have moved on a bit although not expecting anything to happen yet, can hope though.

We discussed waiting and decided that it was going to be hard whether we got pg straight away or a year/2 down the line so why wait when it is likely to take a while anyway. Hoping that the ultra fertile period people talk about is true.

You poor thing, at least you're getting everything !!!! and stressful out of the way at once??:o

I had dildocam before they started me on any treatment, I suppose to check for PCOS and so they have something to compare to once on treatment. Once on Clomid, I had to ring on CD1 to get booked in for scan between CD11 and CD14, to see how things are going. I'm only having (well, had) the one scan then go back to consultant in 2 months so may learn more then. My consulatant (although I realise everyone is different) has said he'll put me on it for 4 monthe then IVF (seems a big leap to me, but i suppose he's the expert?). I'm not sure if I've felt any different as I've had a rotten cold which has really knocked me for 6!!! And no, the scans haven't been stressful - one reason I think is its pretty easy te get put of work as I do a lot of site work and flexi-time so haven't had to tell anyone (yet!). If I had to explain it all to my (male) boss, then I may be a little more:eek:

I had clomid prescribed by GP before referral to a FS for 3 months and had no monitoring of any description. Was just told to go to A and E if I got severe abdominal pain as this could be a symptom of overstimulation. But this was 12 years ago with a fairly newly qualified GP, there may be a different protocol now, and it might be different if prescribed by a specialist too.

Ugh, I wish. Once MIL's having another op on the other side when she's recovered from the first. Ditto on my Dad!

Ah, I've had the check for PCOS (I do have it) back at the beginning of the year - Feb, maybe? I don't know if they'll use that again or not if it's for comparison? I guess the weight loss could've changed the pic by now...?

It is a big leap to IVF! Or at least I'd find it so :o Did your OH's SA come back ok? I would've thought IUI or something would've been a step before IVF? I really hope it doesn't get to that stage though - for either of us :o

I would pm, but atm I'm lousy at replying (mainly cos it's harder to do on a phone :o) cos I'm barely at my computer... just ask Euro ;) (sorry Euro!!)

• Hi Everyone, a not so newbie here!

I dunno where to start with this really but here goes....

About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with mild pcos. The diagnosis came about after bleeding for months on end. I am (very) overweight and a after losing almost 4 stone my periods, for the first time EVER, started to regulate. I'm ashamed to say this however I gradually put all that weight back on and my periods went back to being few and far between. In May 2010 I started bleeding and it never really properly stopped until about 6 weeks ago. Sometimes it was very heavy with large clots (tmi sorry) and other times it was just spotting but the longest it completely stopped between times was 1 week max. I've had numerous appointments with the doc about it and they keep just putting it down to my (ever increasing) weight. The advice is ALWAYS 'lose weight' but I feel like I'm stuck in a vicious circle.....feel depressed due to weight/comfort eat/gain weight/feel depressed/comfort eat etc etc etc  Anyway that's a whole other issue.

We have not been using protection since April (we were managing to do it on the 'lighter bleed' days) but as yet nothing has happened but this comes as no surprise really. I just feel like such a failure because I can't even have a proper cycle let alone get pregnant. It doesn't stop me wanting to test every other day though :(

I have been following this thread for the past wee while and just now I just feel like I'll never be pregnant and it's really getting me down. I really dont know what the purpose of this post is, it probably doesn't even make much sense to anyone else but I do feel better for writing it down. Sorry!

• Ok - possibly tmi but another reason why I love this forum as I would never ask it anywhere else.:o I tried googling but got a load of rubbish so........................Does anyone else find that their ....erm....secretions smell different at certain times during their cycle ie do you think that you smell different during ov - or on the build up to af etc. I sometimes can smell quite a strong (to me) musky smell which I don't get very often. I wouldn't say it was unpleasant - just different to the normal scent....... For newbies - to see this missing section you have to highlight it with the mouse.
