Also another question... when you are in your 2WW do you watch what you eat re don't eat things like pate, soft cheese etc and stay away from medication? I took 2 paracetamol last night for a headache (1 DPO) but the thought of not doing it just in case never crossed my mind until today. I'm sure everything will be ok if I did get a BFP it just got me wondering what everyone else does.

I asked my doc about this and she laughed at me! She said all I was doing by avoiding things in the 2WW was driving myself mental, there is no umbilical link between mother and foetus until roughly week 3 and even then its tiny, so there is no way anything I put in my body would impact upon a growing baby that early on. She said there are rumours about certain vitamins increasing the risk of mc etc, but apparently the sample size was so small it is insignificant and it was similar to that autism study with the MMR which caused widespread panic yet had a sample of only 12 kids or something. Her advice was to change my lifestyle once I get a positive, but until then just act normally and enjoy whatever foods and drinks I usually would. She did advise not getting so plastered I was likely to fall over, but apparently that is normal medical advice anyway! She did say that if a baby MC-d early then its because it wasn't developing normally, not because of anything I did, and its devestating but sadly very common.

Spotting back ... cramping back ... come on lets get on with it. I need a period party!! Speaking of which time to plan it ... Any ideas lovely people?

DH got me a massage and bottle of champagne last month, this month and Indian takeaway and a Pandora charm - massage or facial is a real treat to me as I don't tend to make time for myself (although I'm quite good at spending on treats such as clothing or books).

Read the SMEP plan on Saturday. Thought it was a good idea. And have since managed to totally bgger it up by BDing twice on Saturday and again last night. Still a way to go till OV though, I guess on the plus side I'm always getting the freshest swimmers!

Ahhh that makes perfect sense re the lack of umbilical cord etc.... ok back to my normal eating... I was a bit disappointed as I have some lovely goats cheese in the fridge so I'm going to eat it today now.

I have been taking my folic acid for 2 months now and will continue to take it so I suppose that is all really that is needed at this point. Thank you!!

I'll be here soon Rebekah (well as soon as OH doesn't look like a rabbit caught in headlights when I mention TTC! ;))
Hahahahhaa. They all do .. Even month and years down the line lol :rotfl:
  • I've got more bleeding today and some horrid cramps :( can't believe I might be going back to the beginning after only 19 days. I just want to cry, not a great start to the week. (sorry to be a downer after all the good news)

Still spotting or red flow? Massive hugs honey. We can snuggle in the corner together. Wanna share my snuggy blanket? lol.
Sorry I forget your cycle ... You new off the pill or just have a dodgey cycle with its own mind?

I'm only hours off if not that red flow. Lower backache and temp drop today come on you damn witch i'm ready for you!

No point me expecting hubby to treat me to anything - he doesn't believe in this period party stuff so down to treating meself. Maybe a film and a big bag of chocolate with a duvet on the sofa.

so think I am ovulating, which means we have to do it for three days straight, so it will be four days in a row!! (is there a tired smilie?).

But does anyone know if it's possible to just have a little bit of EWCM and be fertile?
It might not be your full LH surge, or you might be a bit dehydrated or something like that? I think it's been quite warm the last day or so.
Thanks QQ I'm 28. I'm trying to read through the whole 780 as I'm a bit OCD with this type of thing and I refuse to stop half way lol:o. I'll get started on the OPKs as soon as they arrive then :A

    Happy Monday everyone!

So this weekend I managed to list a bin bag full of 0-3month baby clothes (and very cute they were too!) as it was free listing weekend on ebay. I was fine (altho I may've stashed a neutral snowsuit and an uber cute dungaree outfit :o) but it made DH *VERY* broody :( The clothes are from my friend though, and I remember her little girl wearing them, so they're more "oh these are x's old clothes" rather than "oh these baby clothes are so cute" that DH feels :o I'll be splitting the proceeds with my friend though, so hopefully they do well :)

In amongst his broodiness though, he told me that he was talking to me - before he went to work on Saturday morning - saying stuff like "sleep well honey... *whisper: and make a baby*... and have a nice day... *whisper: and make a baby*" :p and also whispering into my belly area when I went for a hug off him etc...! I did point out that it wasn't just my belly that was needed for baby making, but he said "I'm talking to my swimmers too, cos they're still in there....I'm just giving them a motivational speech" :rotfl: Bless him! :A If this is what he's like now, imagine what he'll be like when there's actually a bean in there! :p

AF has finally bogged off though, and I've had some fertile CM (but keep forgetting to do the OPKs and I think I'm having a break from temping this cycle/month/for the mo) and had 'increased appetite' ;) (but then there was 3wks ish without, cos of AF!) so we DTD 4 times over the weekend! It seems to be a bit of a pattern, that...so, so long as I ov on/just after a weekend, we're golden! ;):p:rotfl:

    Hi Everyone :)

Is anyone listening to radio 2 with the debate about whether to have your kids pram facing you or facing out? I think I would like them facing me, but it was so funny, the expert on it who was pro facing you was like "why bother having a baby if you aren't going to engage with them" but mind you her opposition was Katie from the apprentice so I don't really blame her lol. Katie's argument was "if your kid faces you they will ask you for permission for everything forever" lol

So AF pretty much away now, am glad for a new month new start. Don't have any work on at the minute so trying to fill my days, I have loads to do the house is messier than it was when I worked, so I think getting on with it and not thinking about it is the trick. Thinking about loads of days ahead, finances months down the line, not knowing when I will get BFP so should I return to work etc in the meantime.....just gets me stress, so one day at a a time :D

Hope you are all well x
