Thanks Mrsj28.

After the inital  , I cooked some nice cup cakes for my hubby and after we had our lunch, I've told my hubby that we have something "in the oven" so he opened the oven (I took out the cup cakes and put my test on a plate) and when he took out the plate, he was . He kissed me and he started touching my belly (not the flattest belly in the world, but still :D). He said that he will try to be the best father he could be for your unborn baby. I so want to be able to give him that opportunity, in 9 months time but is nothing I can do. Sooo much pressure on me, now.

.

Congratulations :j:j

I do however have to share the shameful (but pretty funny the way he said it) response my OH just gave when I told him how you told your hubby - "and did her husband tell her not to put her pee sticks in the oven where they cook their food !?!" :rotfl::rotfl: ever the romantic my hubby :rotfl:

Aida - you are welcome to stay here until you are ready to move on, it is understable to be concerned but try not to worry too much.

Claretgirl - welcome to the thread. Are you doing anything to track your ov to make sure you are bding at the right time especially if your oh is often away.

ChocolateIsLife thank you.

In regards with OPKs and OV, they only show you that the LH hormone was release in your body and that in 24-36 h you might ov. If you want to know if you ov for sure, taking your temp is one of the things you can do. Also you can ask your GP to test your progesterone levels (I think).
and that shows you if you OV or not.

Congratulations aida and thanks for sharing the pic. Sorry if you're having to repeat yourself butwhat's this about light helping you ov?

Thank you Fannyanna.
I don't know the exact science behind this but if you sleep in dark (dark = you can see you hand after 15 minutes staying in dark -you can easily achieve that by sleeping with an eye mask) for the first 12-13 days of your cycle and then, day 13-17 you sleep without mask + you use a light source (desk lamp it fine) every morning for these 4-5 days , for at least 30 minutes (so you just sit with that light close to you and your face - 40 cm away will do) plus you stay outdoors for at least 30 minutes to get some sun, you should ov. It’s something to do with melatonin (produced by darkness) and serotonin (produced by light) that makes you ov. Also after the light session you should go back sleeping with the mask on (helps the progesterone levels - again perhaps something to do with melatonin).
Hope that helps. Also check these links for more info + google lunaception (the name of this thing :D)
Here and here (a really interesting study)

Thanks primmer. Other than checking the approximate timing is right, not really. Like I said the last couple of months my cycle seems to have changed anyway. Think I need to do more that@s why I thought it best I join this thread. X

Fwiw Aida a google stat I found ages ago said the chance of 2 mcs in a row is 2% and when I had mine the nurse said that your first pregnancy is sometimes such a shock to the system at our body doesn't know how to cope and that it'll know better next time round x x

...everything I've mentioned so far about ttc supplements etc DH has thought I was mental for trying as he's a strong believer in letting nature take its course and being relaxed etc.
Thought I'd get the same reaction when I mentioned the lunaception thing, especially as I added 'that's what they do with chickens' and he's said we should both get masks as apparently that's how you're meant to sleep anyway! Might give it a go then, our bedroom is east facing so there'll be no issues with light for Ov x x

Claretgirl - you could try ov testing sticks to track when you ov, or you could try checking for changes in your body which indicate ov. As a general rule you ov between 14-10 days before your af so if you have 24 cycle you need to bd between days 8 and 14. General advice is to bd every other day from day 8 and then day before ov and day of ov and then 2 days after. Saying that it is possible to get pregnant from 1 well-timed bd.

Right guys, I'm looking on Ebay for cheap ovulation tests. We BD every day anyway, but to know exactly when I ovulated would help me. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Trying to be MSE about it :)
