Hi all....So i am having a bit of a panic at the moment. Basically i was a bit impulsive and once the decision to come off the pill (cerazette) was made, i came off and we started trying straight away.... I have been plodding through various online forums (never a good plan i know!) and have seen on some occasions that people have been advised by gp to wait for first AF to come before trying... have i made a terrible mistake? I am now worrying about all kinds of horrid things like ectopic and mc etc happening cos i was impatient :(:(

What are all ur views? Am i the only stupid one or have other people gotten impatient and started straight away too? :A

Ok, got a poundland cheapie as no other shops around. It's a negative. But than I had lots of drinks already. Will wait till tues to test again.

Sorry Bigmomma, I can't offer any advice as haven't really been on the pill (not sure one month, 9 years ago count). I'm sure it will be ok though, sure someone will pop up in a minute with proper advice.

Just sat waiting for OH comes home, as he's gone to the club to show someone around who wants a wedding reception there. Got a Peak earlier on my CBFM, first time that I've got it. Yay!

bigmomma, I have no real experience of it but I can not see how coming off the pill can cause ectopics or mc's, those are just things that can happen unfortunately but can't see having taken the pill in the past can increase the chances? I guess waiting for a first proper AF is so you can guage your cycle so if (and it happens) you were to catch right away thgen you can know how far along you are?

Please don't worry yourself, i'm sure many many people come off the pill and start trying there and then.

Vesper - great news. I didn't get a peak when I first used CBFM although have had it on the last couple of months.

CD27 here & 12 DPO. Cycles are usually 24-28 days so expecting AF anytime. Did an IC this morning - BFN.

I've booked for CD1 bloods in the morning so assuming I'm not pg, I could just do with AF coming. Obviously if she hasn't appeared by the morning I will have to rearrange blood tests.

I dont really understand why people have said it may cause that either but then i am not the BEST at biology lol!!

Hi Bigmomma. I think they only tell you to wait for your 1st AF so it's easier to date the pregnancy & estimated due date as they date a pregnancy from the 1st day of your AF. Don't worry about it at all!!

I also took Cerazette, actually, my son was conceived while I was taking it. He's now a walking, talking terror of a toddler so no issues there!

Currently 14w pg with #2, we started trying the day I came off the pill too, no issues so far, though took us 3/4 cycles to catch this time.

I think more often than not the reason for waiting a cycle is for dating purposes, more than the likelyhood of it causing any problems.

Then again, I'm one of the lucky ones with Cerazette. No periods while taking it and return to 28 day cycles as soon as i stop.

Exactly. its not about eptopic pregnancies or anything bad.

So dont worry - they started telling people this before everyone got clued up on opks etc, and fancy scans, so they can easily date a pregnancy now.
