Trying for a Baby Part 7

Hi everyone, thanks for your words, been really busy the last couple of days we went up my oh parents on thurs to see them for christmas, we managed to, not sure- what the forum term is -but im sure you can guess-:) on the friday morning , i used a ovulation kit on the friday afternoon when we had come back and the line was as nearly as dark as the control line whereas when i tested on the wed it was a lot lighter, so im hoping we caught it as we havent managed to again especially with oh being ill since then.

I dont want to come across to my oh as some sort of desperate time baby making machine, telling him we have to do it now when we have a positive ovulation test but one of the problems we have is my oh works a stressful, sometimes long houred job, and we havent always had a regular sex life, so the method of trying to do it 2-3 times a week way isnt the best thing for us, so i figure if we can at least narrow it down and make use of that time together we will have a better chance. We have talked this through and oh agrees but im finding it hard to get the balance between it being mechanical with finding out the timing and something natural happening.

How do you all manage to get that balance? oh wants to maybe go away, go out have that sort of date night thing again, but i dont know if that will be just too much pressure on us and him? or try and keep things normal? any advice?

Hi SD - I think you and I are on the same cycle again! I am trying valiantly not to SS. Actually I have had zero symptoms, apart from some mild soore b00bs, which is very standard for AF for me. But if anything it is a bit mild, and I should have had other AF symptoms by now.

My DH sometimes feels pressurised around ov as although I don't tell him when it is the frequency of BDing (baby dancing -sex) increases a fair bit. I've tried to increase the amount we BD at other times of the month so it's not as obvious and so DH doesn't feel like its all about making a baby.

This month has been a lot easier as ov fell over Christmas week and so we've had time off to spend together and do lots of BDing and it's been fun. I do think that having date nights, weekends/time away can help greatly.

It is difficult not to get you hopes up. Both times I've been pg I haven't really felt different to when AF is due. The few things that I thought were different I've since noticed during the cycles the witch got me too. So now I try to ignore or dismiss them as much as I can. I know I'm going to be massively disappointed if it's a BFN this month as I've been hoping we catch after two months as we have the other two times. I really do put too much pressure on myself

That's what I do, unless I am being nosey and want to compare see what is happening to others. Also makes it easier if I want to peek at others.

I have a bd box which has lots of exciting things in. When it gets to ov time I let OH go through the box, it makes him happy and keeps it fun and not mechanical.

I was wondering that too. Think it is her nephew (? or other young male relatives) birthday tomorrow so may be away because of that.
