We watched the gruffalo and gruffalo's child this afternoon. It's so beautifully animated, can't wait to share things like that and the snowman with our little ones :)
I've never seen all of return to oz, we watched it at a friend's party when I was about 8, and I was so scared of the bit with all the heads I had to be taken out :o i was a very impressionable child!

I used to be petrified of Michael Jackson's Thriller video. I would hide behind the chair :)

Happy New Year Lady Bugs :D:D:D:D:D:D
If you can think it........it will happen
  • Happy New Year to all :j, I hope that 2012 will see lots of BFP's. Congratulations to those who have got their BFP over the last few days.

Not a lot to say, I don't think I have ovulated yet (CD19 today!) although I am only going on CM. Good news is DH is over his cold :).
  • I have to say, i get the feeling i am going to be out of my depth with all of this baby making business..... reading the thead, i cant understand half of what everyone is saying cos of the BFP, CDsuchandsuch etc etc eeeeek  And its too hard to keep checking bk to the very beginning to see what it all means! And also, every seems SOOOO organised and knowing when they are ovulating etc..... am i the ONLY person who is just beginning to have a go? :o:o:o

I am still in the "omg i havent taken my pill deliberately for 3 nights now.... eeekkk....." had scared thoughts last night and almost got up to sneak one lol but then calmed myself down and remember WHY me and OH are trying! I can feel my body reacting already to not having taken the pill for only 3 nights.... tummy crampy and AF-ish feelings etc (also feeling hormonal lol - cried at Pat dying on Eastenders which is very un-me!)

But i figure that if i am feeling AF-ish with tummy cramps etc after only 3 missed pills, thats a good sign that its all still in working order i guess??
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

Don't worry. I was the same when I first joined the thread. I felt really out of my depth. You soon get used to it all. You don't have to be temping etc but I know it can feel really daunting when everyone else is talking about it. Sometimes the more relaxed approach is the better one to take. After all women have been getting pregnant for millennia without temping and using OPKs ;):)

  • bigmomma051204 - I sometimes feel I am out of my depth too. DH and I only started trying for a baby last month so its very early days for us too. I have that eek feeling a lot too, nice to know you are feeling the same. We are not going down the temping / ovulation checking route yet just using my (very limited) knowledge of my body as a guide. We have decided that if we haven't fallen pregnant within 6 months then I will start temping and checking for ovulation.

Don't worry about asking what you think is a silly question, I have asked a few so far (and thank goodness for this place as not sure I could ask my friends!!!) and everyone has been lovey and welcoming.

Hugs for not feeling well snowyz81

Glad to know i am not the only one feeling a bit strange about it all!

To be honest, i think its because i have always attached guilt as a feeling to being pregnant...... i had a termination when i was much younger (11yrs in fact gosh!) and although my mum supported me, we always kept it a secret from my dad, sister etc.. it became a bit of a white elephant in the room for us both for a long time... so when i then became pregnant with my ex, my mum was VERY iffy about it all.... long story short, he was very nasty and violent and made what was a very hard pregnancy (hyperemesis/chronic sickness & hospitalisation eek) MUCH worse! I ended up on my own from 6 months pregnant and ended up leaning on my mum again! My dad was extremely resentful of the whole situation, which made the fact i had to live with them 4 months before and 2yrs (!) after the birth a bit awkward!

Upshot of it all is that i now dont seem to be able to envisage a "good, healthy and supported" pregnancy and i think thats what is scaring me lol!

    (sorry for ranting on!!)
