Hello,
I used Toppit....it gave me some confidence back but i still didn't feel "right". I started to use BIG HAIR products because they have no additives and also started the contraceptive pill (Microgynon 30) wondering if I could feed my hair with hormones. I also went to https://www.paulshairworld.co.uk who were sooooo helpful with clip in extensions. After about 6 months my hair started to come back. I had lost over 50% originally so I am very pleased with the change.0 -
Thanks for the hair extension website, there are reasonable prices. I might have to get something soon to thicken my hair. Glad to hear your hair is starting to come back.0

Hey lOM (little ole me was getting too long)
I thought this article was really informative and that's one mean looking recipe for a hairloss prevention shake. http://www.stophairlossnow.co.uk/Vitamins.htm“Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple.” – Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory0 -
Not had time to read the whole thread sorry - was just popping in but Im compelled to reply to anyone loosing hair. I did a few years ago and it was bananas. I KNOW how mad that sounds I thought the same but honestly it was. For a while it was the only fruit I could stomach so ate a fair amount.
I was getting really upset with the thinning of the front of my hair (at 35!) so I did some research and a low protien diet (I dont like much meat at all) mixed in with bananas was a likely cause. I now eat no more than 2 a week and eat almonds and my hair has returned pretty much as it was before. I know it sounds cranky but look at your diets it may just help.Life happens, live it well.0 -

You do make me snigger!
That shake sounds awesome, but looking at the ingredients (Protein, Choline, Inositol, Pantothenic Acid, Biotin, Vitamin E and Zinc)- these tablets I have from Holland and Barrets have all of those except protein in. Maybe I should look at my protein intake...Is there protein in chocolate?lol - i wish.
Let us know if you have any results good or bad, as it may well be that in a shake, these things are more easily ingested or something? I am willing to try anything!
Thanks for keep coming back with info Billy, its much appreciated0 -

You don't sound cranky to me lou lou, If someone said running up and down the road naked while singing the national anthem would help - I would probably give it a try.
Sorry if I sound a bit thick here, do you mean to eat MORE bananas?
I must admit I have never ate enough fruit. Im lucky if I get five a week, never mind a day.0 -

I have been diagnosed with PCOS, and my hormone tests came back 'normal' but my scans showed the classic signs in my ovaries. The doctor explained to me that all people are different, and so different people operate on different levels as normal, even though my hormones are in the normal range, I obviously need a different level for me to be normal.
While the PCOS has caused me to become hairier in other areas, my head hair has thinned quite dramatically. I am lucky that I have thick hair, and it's thinned evenly all over so it's not obvious to others. I can tell though and I too feel quite down about it. It might be worth going for a second opinion in case there is something your GP has missed or misread.
My hormone tests are in the normal range but I've definitely got PCOS
When my hair was falling out I read somewhere to try taking extra zinc. I saw a huge improvement within 6 months but I suppose it could have been any of the other minerals in the multivit that helped too.52% tight0
