Living the dream on a 47" Narrowboat:

Oh that is so sad about your daughter in Oz, I am glad she is ok ... Don`t beat yourself up about not being able to get to her though as Oz is a lot further than Koln.. It is only a one hour flight a bit different than flying to Oz
I too left home at 17 and although I really love my parents we do not always see eye to eye. I have to say though my mum is the best grandmother ever.. she adores dd and dd adores her and grandad.. So I am happy with that
My dd has a new job in Manchester to start in September she comes home in July, this is not because of us, but rather she met "the one" whilst out here, he comes from Manchester...:) Girls..!!! But I have to be honest and say I am happy she is coming home, though like you, I dont want to stop her from travelling or doing what she wants with her life.
I love koln and its cheap (very cheap wine):) but I must say today I miss the boat ... but hey ho that`s life
I only work two days a week since husband got his pension and we paid off the loan and cc`s, but I have to say they have been brilliant. I cant fault the civil service when it comes to family life. Even though they owed me a month off that was to be next month, they helped move it forward because of dd`s illness. That month was going to be spent on cheap week away, or cruising the canals for a month... But I would rather be here knowing she has someone to care for her.. and husband will stay if needed and I will fly home alone. All the mum`s I see on this forum are exactly the same.. we do it... because we are just their mums..Thank you x

Hello thank you NewLeaf I am fine just written on your diary... My dd looks like she has a cyst on her ovary ... Unfortunately our German is not brilliant and whilst the dr`s are really great and good at speaking English sometimes things get a bit lost in translation. In Germany it seems you have like a GP than there are different hospitals and different dr`s depending on which part of the body has gone wrong...:) So her GP phoned her Gyne` after the scan and ultrasound she had had... unfortunately she was not in ..:( But she has had more blood tests and will get the full results Monday... but looking like a cyst... I know you have a German friend .. I have to say I could quite happily live here in Koln I love Germany.
Thank you for reading .. I must admit I did miss the boat today a bit, but a walk near the Rhine blew the cobwebs away...Have you caved in yet and brought a razorx Ps (they first of all thought it might be a hernia from a nick when she was operated on !!!)

I hope your dd gets well very soon. It's a difficult time for you I know.
It looks like granny has resurrected your diary whether you like it or not. She's going to be one of those grannies that charges round organising everyone and hitting those that disagree with her stick :rotfl::rotfl:After which she'll hug us better and feed us chocolate cake!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Hello Bast
How is your DD today? I hope she had a restful night.
I also hope you are feeling a bit brighter this morning, (oops, just realised its already afternoon) and manage to get some time to yourself to enjoy the sights around you before you get back

Just off to bed but wanted to pop in and say hope all went well today and that the results turned out to be ok after all. Also hope your daughter is feeling a bit better. Big hugs to you both, oh and one for DH too, if that's ok
