If you just walk further up from there past the boatyard pub thats where we moor... We often walk down to Wheelton and for me the best time is winter... So beautiful... I dont know if anyone else has ever been but the moors and walks around Rawtenstall are amazing... If you had told me two years ago the best days of my life have been the ones that are free, or dirt cheap.... I would have called you that liar :):) I get so cross with people who have no idea how beautiful the north west is... and thats from a southerner.... !!!!

ps boredatbeingathome... even if its just a bag of chips, from the chippy, sat outside near the lock, there is a little seat just opposite the lock.... treat yourself :):)x bliss....

omg we were at the Boatyard last year sitting out on the benches.A woman next to us was slightly tipsy to say the least, and got up off the bench and rolled down the grass mound onto the carpark.I nearly peed my pants:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
