Probably not tonight. Apart from scores posted on the web someone at the Bel Tel is going to have to approach the remaining schools for the scores (by telephone or other means).
Any way, having followed other newsworthy stories. on social media and blogs, the Tel it is sometimes not the fastest runner in the race when it comes to publishing certain news stories.
That aside DD is over the moon, getting in to first choice choice. I was reduced to tears of absolute joy. Just got to bring her closer back to earth if we are going to get any sleep tonight, especially after last night.
All the best to all your children whatever the result. It is not something they should have to experience at 11. Plenty of time for that later.0 -
My son worked really hard and got an excellent mark of 109. He really loved a local grammar school from the first time he saw it in P6 . He worked really hard to get what was thought to be a safe mark. Unfortunately he was turned down by his first choice school. His second choice school is also a brillant school and we are really glad that they accepted him. However I saw his wee face drop when a score which would have got him into his 1st choice school in the last two years wasn't enough this year. Please do away with scores and bring back grades.0

What?? That's crazy - 109! That is such a great score! Was it Friends, if you don't mind me asking?0

Wow 109 that is an excellent score!!! Can't believe he didn't get in!! Standards must have really soared in some schools! I am still in shock that my daughter got into her 1st preferable! Waiting for a call to say its a mistake! Really feel for everyone who didn't get their 1st choice!0

Yes and he really wanted to go however after the Lipdup Youtube video so did everyone else. I don't think it would be so bad if they found out sooner after their score that they weren't getting into their 1st choice. But to wait 16 weeks and then have your hopes dassed doesn't show a child that doing your very best really does pay off. But thank you so much for your forum as it has helped keep me sane over the last 16 weeks. My other boy is 8 and he doesn't understand why his brother isn't going to the school he really wanted to go to.0

... And if 200 grade A's apply for 150 places what happens then?
It's called Academic Selection for a reason and if your child didn't get his first choice with 109 that's only because everyone else got more than him.
My own son got his 2nd choice and that doesn't mean the system is wrong or unfair it means he didn't get a high enough score ... Someones not in a good mood today????0 -
As predicted my son did not get first choice, Banbridge Academy with AQE 99, he is going to 2nd choice Tandragee Junior High which is in The Dickson Plan and at least he has then got a good chance of getting into Portadown College, so all is not lost. Its not easy convincing an 11 yr that though.0

 What was their lowest score accepted0 -
That is a real shame for your son. The standard in the Lisburn area must be very high this year - that video has a lot to answer for!!
I totally agree with you about the wait, it is so unfair. Every part of the process has been agonising. There must be a way to make this ordeal easier.
Meanwhile, I am still waiting for the slowest post in the world..0
