I was wondering if anyone had read any decent books on improving self esteem and self worth? If anyone could recommend one, I'd be grateful :) I've got 20 books on my to read pile, but none of them are self help ones, I've just got funny books :D

Sorry just Tiff bouncing through for a while.
    Hi feelie!:hello:
I hope you're feeling better feelie.hug.gif There are some good books out there hun that cover the whole range in the self-help section Always best to go and browse yourself obviously angel but here's a few I've gathered.

'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coehlo is an amazing and strange book! In all the usual shops. It leaves you feeling really good and it really makes you think. It is different every time you read it! If I'd known what the story was, I probably wouldn't have bought it as it's in the shape of a strange story of a goat-herder boy  (no - don't switch off!) and all the psychology/self-help is woven into the story. It's been translated into 26 languages and he has a whole series of books.

Richard Carlson's another very good author - he wrote 'Don't Sweat The Small Stuff...and it's all Small Stuff' and also 'Taming Your Gremlin' which is really good. They're written with a sense of humour too and has some really good ideas in it.

There's a book called 'Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway' by Susan Peters (I think!) which is another really great read.

Paul McKenna has a book out called 'Instant Confidence' and it comes with a CD too. Under £5 atm in Asda - but I've not read it yet so can't recommend it personally.

Another book which I haven't read yet is called 'Dealing With Difficult People' by Roberta Cava. Have managed on my own so far!:D

Anyway hun, just a few ideas. Feel better soon angel.hug.gif

Thanks for the recommendations Tiff - there are so many available, I just wanted an idea of a few to read :) I shall be stopping of at my 'libary' (mums bookcases :D ) soon, and will pinch a few of hers - she has a self help book to cover every single thing you could ever need  Also need to get a copy of 'Men are from mars', that could be useful. Otherwise I'll just get a whip :D

So although the meds take weeks to work, the side effects start straight away then:(
    In nausea
    Pumpkin xx

    Hi pumpkin!:hello:
How are you feeling hun? Yes - that just about sums it up. ;)
It's quite common to have a few side effects when you first start meds, but it will pass hun, I'm sure. Nausea is horrible!:o It will all be worth it if it helps though pumpkin. Maybe try something with ginger in it - supposed to be good for nausea. And if you feel really poorly, high-tail it back to the gp and see what he says. Hoping you'll have a good weekend hun.hug.gif

    Hi alex!:hello:
How are you hun? How's the sleep patterns now? What brought it on for you? Lack of sleep turns people into Jekyll & Hyde characters - not a nice feeling at all. :o
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply hun - I'm playing catch up and I think I'm only on page 40! Anyhoo, hoping you're feeling better and that you have a nice weekend planned.hug.gif
