You do not need to feel useless pumpkin pie, you are not at all useless. You are a great friend, and are a very valued part of the thread.

I know you are feeling low, but you do deserve the kindness - you are a lovely person.

Sending you an angel to remind you how special you are xx

    Hi angel!:hello:
Thanks for your post PP - I was hoping all went well. :lovethoug Well done! :T
    As you requested hun...

    fatCatHug.jpg

It always feels the darkest at the beginning hun - it's a bit of a journey.
Firstly, remember hun that you are precious and cared for! I'm really proud of you - as well as having to deal with a medical procedure, you've dealt with your mental ill health too!

    FantasyCat-Angel.jpg

It all probably feels a bit out of control to you right now hun, but things will settle. You have nothing to reproach yourself for - that's part of the illness talking angel!
It's good news that you have a medical team that cares - and what an amazing boss you have! Take her kindness with gratitude and the way it was sent to you, with caring, and repay it by using the time to start your recovery PP.
We ALL beat ourselves up, feel useless, feel like we're a burden sweetheart. What you have to remember is that this is also part of the illness. We all deserve to be loved hun. I've felt all the things you listed - still do if I'm having a bit of a blip;) - but it will pass angel. You've had a lot to come to terms with ~ but you've survived hun!
You need to be kind to yourself now angel - you deserve it!:A
Just a day at a time ok PP? Whatever it takes angel. We're always here for you hun. grouphug.gif

    Hi all,

How are you all doing today? I'm not doing very well. I have seen the mental heath person and she has recommended medication and counselling for me. I am seeing the doctor on tuesday to get the prescription. She also said I should probably stay off for a few weeks til it kicks in, so I'll need to talk to the doctor about a sick note.
I emailed my boss to tell her and she sent me a lovely email saying I shouldn't worry and all I need to do is concentrate on getting better and who is now doing my job.

And it hurts so much. I just feel so useless and not needed at all. What if when I do go beck, they don't need me at all. Everyine is being so lovely and I'm just letting everyone down. I just feel I don't deserve such kindness.

I'm sorry to bother you all, but can I have a hug please?

    You do deserve kindness
You are not letting us or anyone else down
    You are not useless
    You deserve to feel better

Things will get better - but it will take sometime. Try and be patient.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel but I appreciate you cant see it
There will be some setbacks on the way to recovery. Try not to let them knock you too much.
Be kind to yourself (hard I know)
    You are valued here.
You have a lot to offer this world. Please take some heart in this.

    Hi folks,

I've had a tiring week. I've gone from unemployed slob to up at 6:30, 2hr drive into London, lectures and 2hr drive back home by 6-7pm.

Course is quite daunting - alot to learn. And this was only part one of two.
Oh well - it's got to be hard to make me worth employing if I pass. I just hope I can get my brain to think in this new way - I don't seem to have any Natural ability lol!

Two weeks into ADs and no effect. I had 3 tearful days after week one but I feel I'm back to normal. Shame - I felt the emotional days were ushering in a new me.

It still seems really quiet on here.

I can see how you may feel (re. not needed) but if you'd broken your leg would you feel this bad? Think of this as an illness just like a disease or injury.
As my course is in Occupational Health and Safety I can tell you that that is how employers are dutybound to think of it.

    Carol
    Pleased for you xx

Hugs and handshakes to tiffy, sazzy, feelie, blinky, Ethel, gemini, elona, stenny, CC, rose (I know she's gone), miro (where r u), kronas, macca and all the others.

Sorry if I've missed you - my brain is full of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

  • The AD's take a while to work, around 8 weeks for me, but they do work, just chill you out completely. They are proven to work too so they do help, admittedly when you start on them you are absolutely all over the place

I don't think mine are having much impact. Maybe I'm a drug resistant person :( I thought it'd be 3rd time lucky, but no such luck :(

    Hi Guys! :hello:
Hoping you're all ready for the weekend & are well. grouphug.gif
I can't wait for these howling winds to stop - it's like having the sound effects from the old Hammer House of Horror films here! :rotfl:

I was reading back over the last few posts and the question of medication seems to have come up. If you have any doubts or problems with your medications, your GP will be pleased  to advise you on your individual situation. I've found that there are some basic rules involved with taking medications...

    - Please take all your medications precisely as prescribed and not just when you feel like it. If you tend to forget, or if you have a variety of meds to take, either get a posset box (pill box) or write down the time and the med's name and the amount you take when you take it and that way, you'll know for sure exactly what you've taken and when. If you take it
with a hit and miss approach, for whatever reason, they're not going to work.

    - I found that having my local chemist deliver my meds for free, helped me a lot. That way, I don't have to work so hard at remembering what I need and when, because the chemist does it for you if your prescriptions are repeat ones. Then all you have to do is once your amount of times a med can be refilled has run out, you see your GP, get the prescription updated
and you're ok again. Most chemists deliver free of charge and it doesn't matter what your status, income or birth sign you are!:rotfl:

    - Don't ever stop your meds for any reason without seeing your dr first. You may be feeling better and don't think you need them anymore. But the
reason you're feeling better is probably because the medications are doing their job. You also have to think about withdrawal symptoms which can be serious if you suddenly stop taking the med.

    - Some meds can take 8 - 12 weeks to kick in, some take less time. It varies depending on the drug and the patient but do not stop taking it. I know it's frustrating because we go through the whole rigmarole of seeing GP, assessment, then maybe a psychiatrist as well as counselling and naturally, all we want is that magic pill that will change everything overnight. Please don't be down-hearted if you're not pole-vaulting fences after a short amount of time!;)

Just some Tiff thoughts. :D
Be kind to yourself guys, try and have a relaxing weekend - who's got something exciting planned? Or someone exciting?!:p :rotfl:
