Hi ethel!:hello:
How are you hun? I noticed you didn't post here yesterday - not like you angel?
quote=EthelBloggs
evening everyone
My daughter has now been put under Section 3 of the Mental Health Act which can last up to 6 months
I know it must seem scary hun but it's just what she needs. She'll have the constant support and monitoring that she needs. What's best for DD is what counts and I'd hate to see you back at square one angel.:o
it was really odd.. she started behaving very strangely just before the assessement and carried it on all the way thru... making weird comments n stuff.. then once it was over and we had an hour for a cup of tea and a chat.. she was fine again.. no explanation as to why she had done that
And you'll probably not get one hun. It may be worth mentioning it to her care team. There again angel, rapid mood swings are not uncommon with severe mental ill health. She's in a good situation in that there will be a good continuity of care and communication between her care team now so they'll really get to know DD and her problems in that time.;)
anyway.. enuff about me..
No- not enuff about you hun. You give no end of time and advice and smiles here.:TYou need tlc too hunnie.;) You're a pusscat.
Take care angel. Hope all is well with you.
Much Love,

Hi again rbk!:hello:

Tiff, I'm so happy to hear that you had a lovely evening out. It sounds like you had a really good time and enjoyed yourself a lot :j
I was jumping between terror and excitement.:D I'm glad I went though hun. I'm not usually into folk story type things but this was a special - how many times am I going to see the Moscow State Cossacks?;)
30 men TIFF!!! Was 1 man not enough :rotfl:Whip buying as well OMG Tiff
lols Sounds like sooo much fun
Oh rbk!:rotfl: Well, if I've been agoraphobic for eight years or so, I've got some more practising to do!:oI pity the next poor soul!
What's even funnier is that last week, my gynae consultant prescribed a hormone treatment for me! :j I'll start it in about 3 weeks. If Tiff is like this without the extra hormones, what will I be like with them?!
May God help you all, is all I can say!:D  You may wish to consider timing an overseas holiday to coincide with it all...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Take care angel.
Much Love,

Mixed anxiety-depressive disorder (MADD) is a new diagnostic category defining patients who suffer from both anxiety and depressive symptoms of limited and equal intensity accompanied by at least some autonomic features. Patients do not meet the criteria for specific anxiety or depressive disorders. The emergence of the symptoms is independent of stressful life events. There are many issues presently under investigation about the validity of this clinical entity. In this study, a group of 29 patients with MADD was compared with a group of 31 patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) to assess the differences and similarities between these two disease categories in terms of severity measures and biological variables. The dexamethasone suppression test (DST) was employed, and thyroid hormones and thyrotropin (TSH) levels were measured for the evaluation of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) and hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axes, respectively. The patients with MADD were found to be less depressive and more anxious compared to those with MDD. DST responses and thyroid functions were found to be similar in the two groups. When severity of depression was controlled, k(max) and 2300-h cortisol values were found to be significantly higher in the MADD group. Although the patients with MDD and MADD presented with relatively different clinical features, there is not enough biological evidence indicating that MADD represents a discrete diagnostic category. However, there may be relatively higher HPA activity in MADD patients.

Thanks, that's the kinda stuff i read. Still, I'm unsure about it. Seems like people could get wrongly diagnosed.0

Seems like its a fairly new category of diagnosis, theres a couple more links on the right of that page0 -
Not sure when they started using it as a diagnosis, but it's confusing to say the least. It seems people get diagnosed as MADD because the pyschiatrists ain't too sure what the problem is with the patient, but don't want to diagnose a mood disorder such as bi-polar??
Anyone shed anymore light?0 -
Hello Tiff, I was on 20mg of Cipralex when she said to me to just stop taking it. Before when I came off Cipralex to go onto Seroxat I had to gradually reduce it 20mg>10mg>5mg over a period of 2 weeks. This time though nothing. Just stop.
The SHO said it's OK to return to work. All she said was to look after myself and not OD again as it would get a lot of people in trouble.
I've missed any chance of getting an appointment before Easter. Although I don't know what he can do. The SHO has sent him a letter telling him to no longer prescribe it.
The SHO saw me when I was on the ward so she knows about all the overdoses. I told her on Monday that I had self-harmed again as well. My social worker is new but she has read my notes which details everything and I've told her everything as well.
I called work and said that both my Doctor and SHO have agreed that I can return to work but they have already arranged cover for next week. She asked if I had a letter to say I could return to work but no-one has given me anything. She said that she was going to speak to the Area Manager and get back to me so I guess I'll just wait.
