I feel like murdering today
I was awake at 5.30am and when I tried to go back to sleep the birds fluttering kept me awake. I have been so busy but not had enough sleep - I'm sick of it all tbh - all going too slow and I feel tired/irritable today
Why does everyone act like they are on a permanent tea break and resemble doped up donkies?:mad:An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Everyone!
Lewt's post (https://www.depressedanon.com/ - 12 steps etc) is supported by published research.
Yes, AD's do effect biochemical changes which impact on mood. In double blind clinical trials, however, a placebo response rate of ~ 70% is typical with the psychotropics (AD's, anxiolotics, hypnotics), compared to a placebo response rate of ~ 15-30% with other classes of medication (e.g.betablaockers, non-steroidals, cardiac anti-arrythmics etc.). That is, typically ~70% of depressives will be clinically improved if they take a sugar pill believing it to be an AD.
Conversely, yoga and meditation e.g. have been demonstrated to cause measurable biochemical/hormonal changes.
Carl Gustav Jung (founder of Jungian Psychology) always encouraged his patients to 'act as if God exists' because he found his patients invariably got better if they did so. Jung did not believe in God; he just did what helped his patients.
The Timberlawn researchers (founders of the American Institute of Marital and Family Therapy) published their findings on exceptional psychological and emotional health. They found 3 characteristics common to the 'top healthies'.
One of these was that they had a transcendent value system, usually a religious faith, which they described as a "feeling of being plugged in". The 'top healthies' had a sense of meaning and purpose way beyond themselves and their loved ones.
These happy people could easily handle any type of nasty event because they had a larger and more permament source of emotional support than just human relationships could ever provide.
Why be a non- swimmer in the sea of life when you can be a surfer?
A Happy Easter to you all!

She said the only reason I was given Cipralex tablets was to make coming off the Seroxat tablets easier. She said they aren't helping and that there was no need for me to continue taking them and that she would write to my GP advising him of this.
Hi rbk!:hello:
Yes, I thought there'd be a reason for you to have a med stopped suddenly hun. You must have been on the minimum dose of Cipralex in the end as they gradually decrease meds until you're on least amount before stopping them. It's true that if they aren't helping then it was a good idea to wean you off them angel.
But you have been very up and down with your moods as well as od-ing and sh. I would make an appt to see dr asap hun - don't leave it until the end of next week. The services are going to be running at a skeleton basis so get the appt NOWwhile it's still there.
It's very unfair I know hun, but you need to pester these people. Even though we're poorly, we still have to do the chasing. Does your dr and sw know about your recent ods angel? I find it hard to believe that after all you've been through recently, that they'd just drop everything. Just a guess, but would Tiffy be right in saying that maybe you haven't told them exactly how bad you've been feeling angel?
You must tell them how you feel hun. There is always some after-care package available hun, even when you're going back to work.
Also, if you can, try and go back to work on Tuesday. Test the waters and see how you go. You can always come home again hun. If it proves too much, see if they can arrange for you to go in for half a day the rest of the week. It may be good for you but you won't know that unless you give it a try. That way, if you can't cope, you can tell your dr etc., that you tried it angel.
I hope you're feeling ok hun. Thinking of you.
Much Love,

I have been on Cipralex for anxiety and depression for about 6 weeks. Yesterday and today I have been feeling very down. Today, especially I am very anxious. Is this normal for AD's? I was feeling quite good the past few weeks. Got on top of the housework and feeling generally positive. Should I go to the doctor or is a dip like this this normal?
Hi sooz!:hello:
How are you soozie?
6 weeks is bordering on new still. Ad's react differently to each person hun. If this has persisted angel, I'd not hesitate in going back to dr. That's what they're there for. Only your dr can decide what's happening with you right now angel. Don't feel bad about going back either.;)
I'm glad you've had a positive experience so far :T - it may be a case of altering the dose possibly, but the dr must decide that angel. Good luck soozie - keep us posted hun.
Much Love,
