B/f has decided to spend the weekend in his home town, good move I think because he gets really upset when daughter starts being nasty to me and thats where a lot of the problems come from between them.. where I tell him to let things go cos somethings just aitn worth getting mad over.. hes so protective of me he can't, so he tells her off.. she gets the hump and away we gooooo

Gonna go and put some washing in the garden in a min.. its beautiful down here, really sunny and bright :)

Does anyone ever recover from depression? i've been reading a while and no- one seems any better. Or do people leave once better? is AD's the only way to go and stay on them for the rest of your days?

Do we think alcohol is the cause of alot of our problems? how many people drink here? Is debt the biggest cause here? Do people have bad things happen and thats why? Do all people that have bad things happen get depressed? Do we think we could just snap out of it and stop being self pitying? Is self pity (Poor me) what depression is?

    Some questions to ask ourselves.
Oh right, that will be me then.

Alcohol can be the cause of depression and can also be the reason people drink. I drank because I was depressed, to forget it, then drinking made me depressed.

A year ago I started to do something about it, hadn't thought about my feeelings for years really. When I actually started to stop drinking, I was so bad I almost went over the edge, I survived, because Westy from here sat talking to me one morning and wouldn't let me go until I was OK.

So alcohol sometimes hides problems and also sometimes causes them.

Edit, forgot to say, if you have a alcohol problem, there is a thread about it. We just talk amongst ourselves.

  • Hello again folks! hey to Tiff, Saz, ethel, LTD, queensway and all you other people i've forgot to mention!

I am stuck at college on my break time. grrr! Just had english and i got my phone out of my pocket to check the time and this loud music came on, everyone in the class looked up and i couldnt turn the music off, so i panicked and just turned the phone off. Whoops!

I might go to the local pub at lunch for an innocent pint before double law this afternoon.

I cant wait until saturday because I am going on a demonstration to stop privatisation of the NHS.

I notice from another post you try to understand their behaivour, I wouldn't bother, they are moronic thugs. Your son probably has done nothing wrong whatsoever, no one deserves to go into school fearing the worst. It really gets my goat, I actually despise people like this, ganging up on one individual.

    Ethel is right - wow.

Thank you so much for your kind words last night. Although I didn't get to sleep until 3am and up again at 5am, I do feel stronger than yesterday. I was so gutted on half of my son and found it difficult to keep that to myself. I remember one instance last summer, my son called from his mobile "Can you come and help me. I am up a tree and am surrounded by J**** and his friends and they won't let me down." Off I rush to find him surrounded by the bully boys throwing stones and bits of wood at him in the tree. I was literally shaking with anger. My son takes it all on the chin, but why should he? That's my argument. If the bully boys were not attending the school he has been given, it really wouldn't be a problem.

CCStar - I would move if I could, like many parents have but I could not afford it. Bullies aside, I love where I live. The neighbours are great. The "Chav" - great name - appropriate as one of the 11 year olds wears gold chunky chains and a base ball cap.

EthelBloggs - You are right, I am going to fight for him. I asked him how he felt this morning and he said he was keen to go to appeal. That's what we're gonna do!!

Do you think my doctor will write a letter confirming that I am on medication etc so that I can take it to the appeal hearing? I do wonder if I should mention my depression. I feel like I'd be clutching at straws and appear really weak for mentioning this. I know if I do have to attend a hearing infront of a panel of people in suits, then I will be very emotional and I know that I will blub.:o

Hope you are all well and thanks again for all of your input into my problem. :T

Karrie I would say use everything you can possibly use, get a letter from your mp, your gp, his current school - they're aware of the bullying I'm guessing? whoever can possibly help.

It might be worth a visit to CAB or something for further advice, I'm not sure. At the time when it happened with my son I was so entrenched in my depression I was almost bedridden so it all kind of washed over me, I so badly regret that now.

Tiffy or someone will probably be able to advise you much better but I would say fight tooth and claw for that boy.. it's not fair for him to be miserable because of stupid bureaucracy! xxxxxxxxxx

His school are not aware because he doesn't have any problems at all at school. These bullies go to another junior school and my son only sees them after school and weekends.
