Just wanted to write down how I am feeling right now. My son didn't get into the school that he wanted. The school that he has got into is the same school that all the bullies go to. Without going into too much detail, my son can't go out without being threatened and told that he will get the !!!!!! kicked out of him. He is gutted. Although, I am trying to be optimistic and encourage him, all he can focus on is a life of misery at the school. He's a great kid. Really happy and does a lot of sports activities. He's not over confident and can take things to heart. All his friends have got into the school he wanted. Even my next door neighbour goes to that school. He knows only one other person that he knows that didn't get in either. A few children that live in the catchment area of the school he doesn't want to go to, got into his choice of school. How can I help him deal with this when I am not dealing with it very well myself?

I have just had such a hissy fit

My OH cooked some steak, and one piece was virtually raw. On top of everything else, I flipped.

Every time I try to relax and enjoy myself, something goes wrong.

    February alone

    Speeding offence on son's birthday
    Ticket arriving on Valentine's Day
Nail in tyre on day trip
    Incident last night
Selling the house and getting irritating viewers and keeping this place clean.
    Bad sleeps

I know in the main, they are minor-ish and not everlasting

It is the little things that send you nuts and dinner was wrecked - why can't things leave us alone?

How awful for you both - there must be another way, he can't be expected to deal with that.

I dont get many jobs :)

I have currently applied for 541 jobs, (this may be a joke!)
On another site I visit, this person applied for 100 unusual jobs and posted blogs about them and he did get to interview on some of them too.

    There is this other way

Do 100 job applications or whatever it is you are trying to do and get as many No's as possible - you are guaranteed to get at least two yes's

My last house viewing figure was 24, and before that about 20. I have so far had 6.

    Sorry to hear that :(

Could your son start at this particular school and see how things go for a few weeks. In that time if things start to happen i.e bullying you could report it. If the situation doesn't get resolved would it then be possible for you to move your son to an alternative school?

Thank you. I have said this to him but it's just not registering. I had to get our local MP to arrange to have some bushes chopped because a gang of kids used to hide in them with broken bottles in hand, waiting to jump my son. Whilst I tend to leave him to stand up for himself most of the time, it's just so frightening that he has to put up with this. Bullying on line have given me great advise but it just hasn't stopped. The bullies look at me like I am a piece of sh!it and their parents don't give a toss. I am rambling now sorry..................... I can't keep ignoring it now. I just don't know what to do. We are going to appeal but ........... oh it's the depression but I am such a pessimist. Sorry to go on

Please don't feel like you have to apologise on here. We are all here to support each other through difficult times.

It sounds like the bullying has got way out of hand now. If it was me I would be inclined to keep him out of school until either the bullies have been dealt with or an alternative school will accept him. It isn't right that your son has to dread going to this school.

    Karrie.. APPEAL!!!

I had the same situation with my son.. I didn't appeal and he went to the catchment school rather than the one he wanted.. he's now in year 10 and he hasn't been to school at all this year because of being bullied. His education has been ruined because I didn't know how to appeal and thought he'd be ok once he settled in. I was wrong and now I'm trying to find him a new school but it's the worst time because of GSCEs etc and schools arent willing to take in a new pupil at his stage.

Appeal and also ask them to keep his name on the list cos sometimes people who did get in don't take the place or they move or whatever and there'll be a few spaces after half term.

Hope that helps a bit :)
