Hi feelie, i'm not here to boost my own ego, or to say to myself that i have done any good....
Why am i here ? Mmmm good question.
    I'll tell you why.....

I don't have depression, I don't have alcohol problems either.
(But I frequent both boards quite regularly.)
I first stumbled across these 2 boards some time ago. I started reading the posts, and you know what jumped right out at me?
The warmth, support and love you all have for each other.

It was quite touching to read you all shouting out for each other, "are you there?", how's your day been?", "well done!", "you can do it!", "keep it up!",
"proud of you!" etc, etc, etc.
You have built up a sort of little family if you like, and that something each and every one of you have to be proud of !! Thats worth more than anything...

I wouldn't patronise any of you by telling you that i can even begin to imagine what you are all going/have been through, i can't. I'm sure all of your hisories etc, are different, but you all help each other, and if a couple of smiles are raised while reading through the posts, then surely thats a plus??
I know i'm rambling on a bit now, but the point i am trying to make is, you have ALL got great support, and time for each other on this thread, and that makes me almost envious!

Yes i realise that at times life is scary, hard, carp etc......
But you know what? It's like that for all of us.
We don't have a support board for Busy, Mum of 3, Housewife, Nhs Worker, Mother, Daughter, Sister, friend, not enough hours in a day woman - thats why i always hijack yours!

    Thanks for listening
    hugs

    Hi goldy!:hello:
How are you hun? Glad you've stayed around. I just wanted to say what a lovely post that was!:T
If people are here to boost their own egos, they have to deal with their own consciences. I guess as long as they are helpful and do care, does it really matter why they do it? That's a toughie. I post because I really do care and want to help. Bless your heart for your kind and generous words goldy - take care and I'm sending you huge Tiff hugs!hug.gif

I do get alot out of helping people, and yeah, it would make me feel great to think what I said to someone had made them smile even for a second. But I'd feel like that wherever I think, it's my personality and I try and reflect it in my career I really hope I can make a good midwife, it's all about offering advice and help and being there for someone. I think I'd get an awful lot of good feeling out of it, but does that make it selfless? I'm not sure. I guess I post on here wishing I could help someone feel a tiny bit better, because I feel better reading other peoples post, kind of like we swap posts to make each other feel better. Though I've not being here long so don't really feel I make a difference, but that's ok. I hope I can make a difference somehow someday to someone. It's so easy to make someones day and sometimes we don't see how. This went a bit off tangent. I want to feel like a good person who can do good things. I wonder if I ever will.

    Hi lexi!:hello:
Your post shows your kind heart hun.:A It doesn't matter how long you've been part of the family angel - what you contribute is important and it does help. Why shouldn't you feel good if you've helped someone? It's better than feeling good for hurting someone! Sometimes a smile, a hug and a few nice words is all it takes to make someone feel better and that's wonderful imho.
    I hope you're okay hun. Take care.hug.gif

    Well folks,

I've had a successful day today. Argued with BT and got back £130 for my mom - which actually they had a perfect right to have - RESULT!

Been to doctors. Got another 4 weeks note (bless him).
I have tonsilitus apparently (that's hard to swallow!). I've been given extra strong tablets for my headaches, something for virus and more ADs. He now thinks i might have glandular fever which can bring on depression - that's rubbish unless i've had glandular fever for 30 years! I'm being screened for it when i go back in 3 weeks.
This soup is lovely I tell you!
    xx

    Hi gilly!:hello:
Well done on the BT issue hun!:T
I'm sorry you're a poorly badger gilly. hug.gif It's good that you've got a supportive gp angel. I had glandular fever at 16 - not nice.:o They were saying I had tonsilitis all the time and then a blood test showed differently. Erm, did you know that it's commonly referred to as the kissing disease? You [STRIKE]lucky[/STRIKE] er, naughty badger!:D ;) Look after yourself angel.
    Much Love,

hello everyone, hope everyone's having pastel days and not black days.
I posted a week or two ago and everyone was really nice, thanks for the pm's they really helped. Went to see my Doc, he's sent off for an appt with the CPN, and also the dietician as I have a condition which means my bowels don't work alone-I want to try and see if my diet can be modified so that they can maybe start moving, although its medical so I doubt it.
I also went to library and get a few books that have really helped, Bloodletting and currently reading Elizabeth Wurzels latest (author of prozac nation.) Told o.h I couldn't be in a couple with him anymore,I love him dearly, but I'm not in love with him, it makes me sad, and him too. We've decided to try and just live together, houseshare, so he doesn't have to find somewhere else, and I dont have to get a 2nd job & a lodger.Which is a relief.
I'm taking each day as is, and have spoken to a couple of close friends, which has really helped. Its true what they say, a problem shared and all that. My friends have assured me they will always be there for me, and they're just at the end of the phone, if I ever need to talk. Going to focus on getting my head straight-no more black swirly edge of a precipice(sp) days for me.
    Love and hugs to all.

    Hi shh!:hello:
You've done so well hun - I hope you feel proud of achieving so much when you were feeling so low.:T
Just having a basic plan on how to move forward can be a huge comfort. I wish you lots of luck hun - and if you do have down days, don't worry - you've proved to yourself that you're a survivor and that they will pass. Thanks for the inspiration angel. hug.gif

Morning, I can tell I'm near enough back to 100%, I've got that feeling of restlessness, of boredom when Im off work etc!

I havent had that for a good few months, usually its me hoping that time doesnt go too quickly so that I dont have to go to work, or im happy to stay in the house away from problems, once ive sold my car (cleared finance) then things will be better and I will be able to get my funds around and clear most of my debts, then work towards paying off my loan that my parents got for me.

I was looking just now on my internet banking page, and realising that my direct debit list will be so small once they are all paid off :) Will be a nice feeling to cross off 4 debts on my sig but manage to add only one :).
    Hi l-t-d!:hello:
You have also achieved so much in a short time hun and crossing off some of those debts will feel fantastic!:T And you did it all when you were feeling very low. I hope you are feeling better hun.
    Much Love,

Morning all...hope everyone is able to face today with strength and courage...if not...huddle back under your duvet :)

We had a grand time in London, apart from my gyn probs(which I wont go into on the thread, if anyone wants to know feel free to pm me)! I had a weepy spell on Sunday, where I just felt that I have no control over my life, needless to say hubby was tremendous-cuddles and hankies galore! Once I calmed down, we got ready and headed out again!!

I think I am a bit rund down just now, as I am loaded with the cold, hubby reckons I done too much in London and it was only a week after my day surgery, so this week its "taking it easy" in our house!!, Kettle on keep warm for cuppas and hot water bottles, and plenty of hot water for nice relaxing baths.

Hugs to Tiffy, Feely, Badgie Boy, Ethel, Blinky, Saz, CC, Gemini, Twinny, Stenny, Singlehouseholder, QB, and anyone else I have missed out...trying to type inbetween sneezing, blowing my nose and whinging ;)

    Fairy dust to allxxxxxx
