1). Yes they have you "marked" as having had the policy voided, and you will need to declare this for ever - (a declaration asked regarding this by insurers is usually along the lines of "no insurance company has ever declined/cancelled/voided a (motor) policy)

2). You said that it was because you were "officially" advised by SW that the incident you were involved in need not be declared to other insurers that you have ended up in this mess. So pursue this to see if they will clear your name.

3). Do price comparisons etc using a virtual id whilst changing your profile to find the best deal..

Yes, that is right. SW agreed that they gave me wrong advice when I rung them for details of the past accident. But I understand now, my problems were caused by 1) different addresses, and by 2) not putting all accidents on the form. The first reason was down to my absentmindness, and second was down to SW. But I will see if SW could help me to clear my file.
