It's just been renamed to 'Email update from ChaCha' as no one has 'got the chop' as such :)

They have removed my role too! Only got the email this morning. Am really annoyed as have put in loads of hours and have made £38.

What happens to the money Ive made? Will it be paid on 20th even though its under £50? Im 9 months pregnant at the moment so was really relying on it and have worked hard to get it

i know the feeling - im 7 months preg and was hoping to keep doing this when the baby is born to pay for extra stuff for him :(
Learning to keep within budgets !

    :money:
  • I'm still active. Don't post much on the forums over there, and when I log on the question rate is dire:mad:.

I have done a few activations, and never received a bad answer email but had a couple of 70% presentations. I would be interested to know how they made the decisions.

    I'm a factfinder.

I got a few of them even though the answers were fine. Strange.

Also got "Stop writing ChaCha fluff"! LOL - because I was writing "Thanks for asking ChaCha" at the end of some messages.

That's what you get for being nice :D

I'd suggest that anyone who wants to (keep) working for ChaCha might want to watch what they write on this forum. For what it's worth, I think there is a niche in the UK for them, not everybody has/wants/knows how to use a smartphone and even if you do have one, it can be a lot more convenient to have someone do the work for you than run internet searches off a mobile phone screen and at mobile phone speeds (and that's before you start talking about the effect on battery life). I see ChaCha as having a future essentially as a cheap 118-type arrangement, particularly since a lot of the real questions I have had have been about phone numbers and opening hours. ChaCha have always been open about the fact that the work they offer is a pocket-money job rather than a main income. I'm happy to keep plugging away with them, however if I were seriously looking to earn extra cash, I'd be looking at doing other work as well. Hopefully they'll bring the suspended workers back on board soon.

As I've said before it would be more convenient if the answers to simple queries were correct but as they aren't and as Sean has pointed out the marketing behind the operation is comparable to a chimps tea party. A lot of the competitor answer companies have struggled to make a profit at £1+ an answer so chacha is not going to be around for much longer if the level of traffic keeps increasing (or decreasing) at the current rate.
  • I'm going to remain positive.

Steve Jobs was sacked by Apple originally, but he kept going.. and look what he achieved. Penicillin was discovered by accident when something else went wrong.

It's a new company, they're still establishing themselves and I think those that stick with them now will be rewarded later. Those in for a quick buck that want to jump ship the moment it's hard may regret it later... but after all, we can only make decisions for ourselves.

They've always said it shouldn't be your full time job, I have a 35 hour a week main job, and I do ChaCha and MSing, both of which I enjoy and pull in a significant amount of pocket money for holiday fund. That makes me happy and I'm looking forward to seeing things pick up... :)
  • Can anyone confirm if we are going to get paid if the amount earned is under the £50 and we have got the email saying they dont need us as a guide at the mo?
