What about splitting a loaf and putting half in the freezer. You can always defrost some for sandwiches or make toast straight from frozen if you run short.0

Hi,
Am after some inspiration. This week I had leftover red peppers, onions, potatoes, leek and radishes.
SO I fried off some peppers and onions to use as a jacket potato topper for tomorrow teatime. I made leek and potato soup then I made the rest of the new potatoes into potato salad (salad cream, mayo and a tsp of english mustard powder).
But I am just staring at the radishes with no idea what to do with them. Any ideas??0 -

We are going to friends for dinner on Saturday night and I am tasked with bringing the starter. Just trying to decide what to make. I have a reasonably well stocked fridge and wondered if any of you lovely people have any suggestions. I have:
large flat mushrooms, ham, pate, onions, cheese, fresh basil and mint, breadcrumbs and bread. Have garlic and lots of dried spices.
Inspiration anyone?
Thanks :rotfl:0 -
Hi Shirleytch:hello:
Hmmmmm! What about mushrooms stuffed with cheese, onion and a little garlic? Sorry, i don't eat mushrooms but I'm going on what I've seen on cookery programmes etcOr a partially cooked mushroom risotto (although possibly too awkward....)?
I'll add your thread to the leftovers thread later, once you have plenty of suggestions
Few threads
Stuffed mushrooms
Lots of mushrooms, what to do
What can I do with breadcrumbs
thanks

I think I'd go for the stuffed mushroom option, too - probably cheese, garlic and basil mixed together, then topped with some breadcrumbs - if you cook them in advance you'd probably just need to stick them under the grill at your friend's house to warm them up and turn the breadcrumbs crispy.
Or you could do mushroom soup, which again would just need warming up when you get there and serving with some nice bread.
You might guess that, unlike zippychick, I love mushrooms! :drool:Back after a very long break!0
