  • B & M like a giant home and bargain/£1 shop with loads of tins/dried food/jars , I thought they were nation wide as they had their own bags and it was so large ! just in a shopping place i had not been to before it also had lots of herbs ,spices, jars of peppers that were giant, and other unusual things.I was boring with my shopping !

I've just eaten a bowl of horrible yukky Oatabix with milk and banana for my tea...the packet has been left at the back of the cupboard for a couple of months now and I am determined to not throw it out!! But flipping heck... they are disgusting! Might need to have a glass of wine to wash away the taste.

Thing is there are still half a dozen more sludges to eat....

Oh but think of all the possibilities, drizzled with honey, dried fruit, and nuts, berries(freshly picked ofcourse), natural yogurt. I had 2 boxes of ready oats to get rid off, I ate it made with water and added yogurt, sometimes seeds, dried fruit. Mainly had it when I came in from a run, or as bedtime snack. Think off the money your not given to the supermarkets;) Oh and don't buy it on offer just before winter, thinking that will make a good breakfast:rotfl:

Thanks... have done this with weetabix but the oatabix has a different and even more cardboardy texture! Pure sludge. Yeuch! I will probably perservere with the stuff but only on the basis that I can't bear to throw the packet out and no-one else will eat them.

Tonight we had some Sharwoods dried egg noodles with a best before date of January 2002. :j Still got more of them too.

Did a cupboard clear out yesterday and am totally shamed at what I found lurking in the deepest recesses. Things WILL get used up before anymore is brought into this house. <finger wagging going on now>

Oats are fine - got 3 packets of oats/porridge to use up, oats are no problem (though for me it's with banana, nuts and a little wheatgerm added too). It's just this rotten wood shavings disguised as food which are causing the problem!

I have some out of date taco shells best before may 2008. They should be ok still to eat? I don't think taco shells would poison me:D . Whats everyone think?

The dregs of a bunged-up squeezy tomato sauce bottle were rinsed into Pup's dinner yesterday, & we all had manky carrots & limp celery in the cottage pie too :shhh: :rotfl:

Well, I managed to make a fab stir fry on Monday from the well dodgy looking veggies in the bottom of the the fridge. Children loved it so much they want another one next week!:rotfl:
