  • Another slip up for me - threw out a bunch of spring onions and 3 small carrots that were lurking in the back of the cupboard - was so proud of myself too cos our shelf of the fridge was empty without anything being thrown. Looks like I'll have to streamline storage so that things cannot lurk!

I had to throw away one solitary mushroom because it had gone, well, mushy. *ick* Other than that, it has got to the end of my shopping week (off to supermarket tomorrow, yay!) and I've not had to throw very much at all, thankfully. Some haslet that was in danger of going out went into an omelette last night, and I've frozen everything else that needed it. :)

We had some hot dog rolls that we had been given from a summer fair that were going hard so i sliced them up and made a garlic butter to spread on them and chucked them in the oven to make mini garlic bread slices - much nicer than the norml stuff !!

some cabbage, a celery ,a few radishes and carrots and 2 shallots.
3 pots of jam each with a bit in the bottom, different fruit flavours.

Don't know how many people you want to stretch this for but here goes

use the jams, peach spongecake and custard to make 'self-assembly' trifles - if you've got a jelly you could make that up with the peach/cake first. (I'm assuming here that there's only a couple of spoonfuls of jam and not enough to have on toast....) If you do these in individual glass dishes it appears to go further than in one big bowl :D

Not sure what to suggest with the veg - I'd probably cook it all up together and use as the base of a veg. curry.
