Did not get anything constructive done yesterday:o
DD1 needed some TLC and eventually got herself together to go a 21st birthday party- amazing what a pair of impossibly high heels will do - she is usually very casual and only 'glams up' occasionally so I think the effect is more obvious when she does do it! DD2 was very busy with activites/homework/friends. OH had a little cloud of gloom following around all day due to rugby and as we were on our own for evening we succumb to a takeaway - and very nice it was too!
So today is catch up on yesterday and do todays chores. OH has gone out - its a flying day apparantly- yesterday to add to his cloud of gloom a flying buddy had an accident and was winched off to hospital - being told,by OH, it could have been worse didnt convince me so have just made mental note to check his insurance all up to date;). DD1 back to university and DD2 beavering away at homework ( I hope). Sooooooooooooooooo what to do and where to start........................ be back later for up date.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

One more day then week off:) Planning on a great deal of decluttering, debt busting, list making,Christmas cake baking and a trip to a food fest with friend. Also need to read book for book group on Tuesday night
OH also off all week - he doesnt know yet just how busy he is going to be
Looking forward to weekend when we will have grand permanent lighting of Aga...shouldn't need to go out then more than 3/4 times until April! We have enough coal now to last us until January but we get it topped up every month with 4 bags - this way if there is any snow it wont matter if a delivery is missed and we have 2 bays of the wood shed stacked with logs for log burner - the other 2 bays are still full of the old kitchen, doors and window frames we ripped out 20 years ago which we use for kindling - should be warm this winter:)
Headache pinned me down again this week - so its back to doc on Monday and I am not budging this time until I get a referral.
Payday also next week so much shifting of money to be done.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

The week ahead is jammed packed with all sorts I just hope I have not tried to get too much in.............. after this week the silly season starts at work and I really dont look forward to it. Off to Mr T now before it gets too busy. Next week will be back to door step deliveryBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

October has been a spendy spendy old month and doesnt seem to want to stop. Cant do any debt busting til payday ( Friday) and have nothing left until then - now in the past I wouls have just got the old CC out and kidded myself I would pay the whole lot off when the statement arrived. I have used the CC for ABSOLUTE essentials ( car service, DD2 school shoes and flowers for a signifcant birthday for a significant Aunt) but not for anything else and I will pay it on Friday
We are not going to starve, just eat odd food combinations from stores and freezer and we are warm and healthy. I have refused a trip to cinema with friends - on the basis I dont want to see the film even if it is Orange Wed. Again in the past I would have just gone along, paid up and not thought anything of the 45 mile round trip, the cost of the ticket and I do enjoy a bag of popcorn ( not sweet - yuk !). Going to stay in and watch some DVDs we bought last Christmas and havent watched yet and I have found some microwave pop corn in cupboard:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Same here on the money front. Do have any 'til payday but also don't really need to buy anything 'til payday & not using any c.c.'s. In the past I would've just bought things anyway like extra food that is not really required which would've got eaten cos it was there or half of it thrown away. It can be tough trying to debt-bust when unforseen expenditure pops up but that's modern life I guess.Pay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000

Just found those last 2 posts really interesting and had a mini lightbulb moment to myself. I think I've been kidding myself on that the credit available on my credit cards actually belonged to me. That amount used to sit in my head and be part of my disorganised mental calculations whenever I spent anything. i.e. none of the monthly/weekly planning that goes on now. Just spend as you go and sometimes I would add to my cc BEFORE my wage was even all used up. As though it was an extra stash I could use up.
WAM and Igamogam, you're really inspiring. Well done for saying no to the credit cards. I can definitely learn a lot from you two.
I prefer salty popcorn too Igamogam. Remember when they used to pour melted butter over it at the cinema? Lovely. If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -

Oh noooooooooo not melted butter! We did try that once but found when we left the cinema we were in such a greasy mess - hands chins, greasy finger prints on coats and bags. My OH has a beard too ( not a grizzly one I hasten to add - yuk) but a just-a-bit-longer-than-desginer-stubble one - still when greasy not a good look:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Funny we only ever saw the melted butter option once - wonder why:D
Its an NSD day here today. Putting in huge monthly shop order with MrT for delivery tomorrow - payday. Got my list and meal plans by PC and have done a quick check of stores ( food and non food) and freezer. Only planning on doing tiny weeny food shops for the rest of the month:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

However debt just jumped up another £285 - standing order for student DD1 rent in Sept didnt go through ( ithought it had !) so just writen a cheque. Having a monster weekend listing on Eb*yBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
