    Well have sorted out one 'frog' in a sense today but the frogs I refer to are not MSE type frogs - I am in fact referring to the rugrats I teach - as in mad as a bucket of frogs :) They are all truly bonkers at the moment - the windy weather and lunar phase hasnt helped either - seriously. So one frog/rugrat to be discussed tomorrow re placement in the meantime we can have a bit of breathing space and get on.

    DD2 has come home today with plea for a new clarinet - when will it ever end - she does need one if she is to make any further progress_pale_

    Crikey just noticed I am on page 3 of diary. Cant say I feel I am making any progress just burbling away on here - but it does keep the debt busting non spending stuff in my thoughts :) its just that work is just sooooooooooooo difficult at the moment:( I love my job but I am about to lose my right arm - metaphorically that is. My TA is going on maternity leave in 2 weeks and she is an absolute gem,gold brick,five star life saver like minded kind hearted right hand person cant do without hard to fill shoes kinda TA. Oh I am sooo going to miss her:cry: Her replacement is great and quite competent but young and inexperienced - I guess I have just got use to communicating telepathically - and in our line of work to be telepathic is an asset ;) New TA has lots of intiative so I will be relying on that....... will soon have her licked into shape

    A NSD for me today thats 9 so far this month - think I coould have had it up to 12 but have had to buy lunch a couple of days - must get more organised.

    DD1 in debt busting mode of thinking - after being told I would not be buying her an epilator for Christmas - she found recipe/method for sugaring solution;a kind of syrupy gloop used for hair removal bit like waxing ( for those who might not have heard about it) Anyway she succesfully made some and cut up an old pillow case for the strips. The syrupy gloop she left in the kitchen in an old strawberry conserve jar. OH came home early from work and fancied some toast.......yes you guessed it. We havent stopped laughing yet. OH maintains its not that funny. We think it is:rotfl:Best thing is that he told DD1 that jam she had made tasted quite nice but was a bit runny....now I find that even funnier - DD1 make jam:rotfl::rotfl:

    OK DD1 beginning to excel in debt busting - has cut DD2 hair:eek: Found some do-it-your-self-layer-your-own-hair-in-10-minutes method on U t*be and decided to practice on willing sister - willing sister having been at home all day as school has a training day. Where was OH who was also 'working from home' today - oblivious.
    Well it doesnt look too bad and has saved me about £25 which was to come out of next months spends and as they said thats £25 towards clarinet - only £475 to go then:eek::eek:

    Oh heck Friday again. Cold enough here to get Aga into action but we are holding out

    Off to theatre today en famille.Treat before DD1 returns to final year at university. Matinee performance of We Will Rock You. DDs have their rock chick gear ready. OH practising his Freddie Mercury strut - not a good look.:D Then out with friends and their offspring to our favourite Pizza and a Pint pub :)

    I had a right good giggle at your OH eating the sugary, leg waxy stuff. Brilliant!

    I'm also reassured, in the nicest possible way, to hear your debt busting is as slow as mine at the moment. We will get there, it will start shifting, just need to keep the focus even when it's going slooooooooooow.

    Well done to your DDs for geting into home made hair cuts. That's great DF stuff! Just be ready for the haircut that goes a bit wrong... :)

    My DDs have been brought up to take risks and live with the consequences - something rare in modern childhood. But then both their parents have taken part in what would be considered dangerous sports and my OH still does - wierdly I no longer do. Lost my nerve when the sproggs arrived but use my crumbling knees now as an excuse ;) DDs where warned if hair cut went bad there was no bailing out by throwing money at it and it was accepted in good grace :)

    Oh sorry i didn't understand you weren't referring to money, or financial frogs when you were talking about frogs.! Love the idea of Daughters giving haircuts....lol

    Me and OH have been cutting our own and each others' hair now for about 5 years. Sometimes it doesn't go too well but when I tell people that's what we do they tend to look genuinely surprised. Which I figured was a good sign.

    It didn't start as a money saving exercise. It started because I absolutely hate going to the hairdressers. I can't bear some stranger pawing over my head, once the shampooist stuck her fingers in my ears to dry them, another gave me an uninvited head massage, they all take at least an hour of which approximatey 50 minutes is spent telling me all about their life when I really don't care.

    Am very happy to not have to do that anymore. :D

    Think I'm becoming a grumpy old woman. :rotfl:

    Welcome to the club! :rotfl:

    I have to confess to haircuts I pay for - I go twice a year for a proper cut and 2/3 times a year for a fringe trim so I dont count my hair cuts as a huge expense:) My hairdresser knows I dont do small talk neither do I want to be sold 'products' nor do I want my hair coloured, highlighted, lowlighted or illuminated in any way - just a good cut which I will happily pay for.

    Yep my class are often referred to as the frogs! The hair cut wasnt too bad TBH. They assured me that it would be ok and showed me a clip on U T*be which didnt give me any confidence but the out come looks ok and she is happy with it - I am quite sure her image conscious, preening friends at school will be horrified on Monday :rotfl:
