Been in bed most of day but I think headache has now turned a corner:) Weather gorgeous which lightens the mood a little but dont feel like going outside. Made the mistake of watching carp TV on i pl*yer...........Storage Hoarders.... and feel I really must crack on with the declutter - comes in fits and starts. Made good headway over summer hols with lots of trips to charity shop and lots gone on Fr**gle. Must make a concerted effort to get stuff on Eb*y especially as money has 'run out' i'e I'm bumping the overdraft and really dont want to

Just resent being on the merry go round AGAIN - seem to get things going forward then it stops - just going round in endless circles - its OK I am just going through a bit of a trough :)

Food - I tend adapt recipes and do it all by eye/taste so I am no good for asking for recipes. Did try a chicken and pesto thing from a free insert in this months BBC GF Mag - adapted it for the slow cooker;) Went down well.

Also from same freebie a fish dish which is silly easy: Fillets of chunky white fish ( I used cod) One large piece did us three fine. Cut into portions i.e one piece per person roughly a large square shape! Wrap each piece in parma ham ( well Italian dried ham quite cheap in Ald!) Place in baking dish. ( I used a lasagna dish) Blob in and around each piece the contents of a 300ml tub creme fraiche ( you can use LF but I never do - no taste) make sure ends of fish are covered ( that is what recipe said!)Then blob around a small tub of fresh pesto - well recipe didnt say use fresh but it was my preference) Sprinkle with pine nuts ( guess this is optional but I had some in :) ) And healthy grating of 'Parmesan' cheese ( I used T*sco very cheap version - does the job) and bake for about 25 mins at 230 c ish - until fish is cooked through. When I looked at recipe I think it said sprinkle cheese and nuts on at end - I didnt! May have also said add extra basil leaves - didnt need it IMO. Went down well with everybody here - served with green beans ( from the garden) and new spuds. Serve it with what you like I say!

Glorious day.....finally planted that sack of daffodils :) Have decided to go back and try the 'envelope system' again. Did give it a try but didnt really have a clue how much money I needed to put in each one every week !

My plan is that I will break down what I need to meet the 'extraneous bills' each week - some of these are paid weekly others termly and some annually. So car tax and some insurances we pay up front, dance and music lessons, vet bills, yoga class etc I will withdraw what I need from bank on pay day and distribute into tins boxes envelopes whatever - For example my car tax is £30 a year so that is about 58p a week into an 'envelope' each week. When it comes to paying for it the theory being I will have the money already there...................makes sense to me;)

Not sure I will do this for general food shop but I am trying a £70 -£80 a week - thats for everything. I am going to be flexible on that one:D

Anything left at end of month/week for monthly and weekly payments I will either 'redistribute' or slew into a tin marked emergency/sofa/extras fund:rotfl:

Taken me effin ages to get all this sorted in my head................I am a bit of a slow burner and to be fair to myself I have had to get some other things sorted first. Those are now on the way to being resolved/sorted so its got to get easier from here hasnt it?

Hmmm - need to do some more CC 0% shuffle again:cool:

I love 'working from home Fridays' :) Fab warm sunny weather here today so have sat out in the garden 'working' - seriously but not on work work IYSWIM. I help organise a 3 times a year charity fundraiser/sale for a national charity and tomorrow is one of them so I have been prepping for that.....should bring in some money from selling some stuff too :) Which is just as well as car in for service today and I have just come off the phone having been told the bill  Needs must as I have to have a car and I do over 500 miles a week so when it comes to tyres etc I dont skimp - buy cheap buy twice and all..........some good news did have a payrise - first in 3 years which after being clobbered by tax, nets me an extra £23 a month.

I will do the work work on Sunday ;)

Doing the 'work' I should have done on Friday in between debt busting stuff :). Made over £80 on Saturday selling cast offs and books at charity fundraiser and spent only £1.50 on couple of books for work. Weekly shop has come in at £52 thanks to a couple of vouchers the value of which will be paid onto OD CC debt. All good stuff. All big bills now paid until Jan I hope..............new tyre and car service cost approx £400 :( Main dealer wanted over £500 to fix rear windscreen wipe :rotfl: :rotfl: Politely told them no and they offered 10% discount.......not even close I said! I will consider giving job to local garage although I am not keen on the patronising owner......

Spent a fab afternoon in the garden doing not very much. Really warm and sunny here today and I didnt feel I wanted to be shut up inside doing boring old stuff.............will pay for it later I guess. The garden is still looking great and is producing in abundance - more figs and damsons we can eat/process. Red peppers tomatoes cucumbers in greenhouse and I am having to become inventive with meals to incorporate runner beans squashes and courgettes. Plenty of wild food too...the blackbirds have been gorging themselves on rowan and hawthorn and I am sure in a few weeks the hollies will be stripped bare too. Going to hold out a few weeks more before I start feeding the birds ( which has gone into my 'envelope' scheme) I usually buy from my local RSPB reserve a sack each of peanuts, table seed and sunflowers in the autumn and this will last, supplemented with homemade fat balls until the end of March, when mother nature takes over again depending on how cold it is. I reckon its about £2 a week.Have only got £2 in the feed 'envelope' thus far so this will be saving for next year :)
