  • I'm with you there. Still a fortnight until payday and things are looking incredibly tight this month.
I've just been right through the cupboards and freezer, and there really is no excuse at all.

Another productive day in the garden - just a few drops of rain now. Even managed to catch a bit of tennis from Queens :) House will get minimum attention whilst I watch the charity match

Havent been posting because just a bit busy with work and home but have been tackling debt one way and another - mainly through PADS - a wonderful thread! Two CCs now just about dead - will make a tiny payment next month to finish them off completely. Today have received confirmation from HB*S that they have upheld our claim and will pay £2598 this constitutes a payout from a miss sold PPI policy - going straight on the mortgage which is also beginning to look a little pathetic

BTW this PPI was for a policy we had over 12 years ago so don't be put off by the mythical '6 year rule' Now I am going to tackle PPI claim on a couple of pesky CCs I had in the past.

Hoping to post more regularly now summer hols are here :)

Have had to go into work three days this week despite it being holidays - just get so much more done when kids not there! So now wont be going until last week of hols so officially I can turn my attention to debt busting among other things:j

Have also had a few days off the PADding - only because overdraft is maxed out - dont need to spend anything so thats OK - however have transferred my ridiculous expensive overdraft onto a 0% deal for 12 months - even with transfer fees I will be saving money - plan is to PAD that card relentlessly over next 12 months to hammer down the over draft then when deal is finished I will pay much reduced amount from current account - I have a rolling overdraft which is just paid each month when salary goes in - havent really attacked overdraft before but as it has been costing me between £45-£50 every month I thought that was money that was best put to paying other CC's - any way thats the plan fingers crossed it works out :) Will make me work super hard at keeping to a budget too as I do not want to creep into my overdraft for 12 months!

I have some loose change rubble mounting up so If I get to a bank tomorrow I will pay it in against a CC and claim it a PAD - but the weather here has been fab so I may well only get as far as the beach!

Have started, yet again, a huge declutter - this time I do seem to be making some headway. Determined that this will the last school holiday I spend sorting carp out on an industrial scale;) Have filled the car ready for trip to charity shop tomorrow DD2 having friends over tomorrow for a sleep over so wanted to get a fair amount out of the way before they descend!

Aim is to have dining room cleared of tat and keep it like that and to get rid of stuff being stored in conservatory. Also DDs old play shed has been stuffed full to the roof and I want to get rid of whole shed by end of Sept as I have plans for garden. I am going to be busy - but I have promised OH and DD2 that I will clear it all - a lot of it is work related abut I have realised I really dont need it all now - lots will go to charity shop and Fr**gle but I will also put on Eb*y and use any money to throw at debts

Treating myself to a hair cut this after noon - apart from a fringe trim I havent had my hair cut since December! I dont faff with my hair - colours, tints and what have yous but I like a good cut that allows me do want I want with my hair with minimum fuss and I am happy to pay a premium - stayed with the same stylist for over 20 years until he decided to take a back seat and took some time to find another who understood what I wanted and didnt sell me barrows loads of 'products' and unnecessary treatments:mad: But as money has been tight I have 'missed' a cut along the way and had an email offering me 50% off - very happy:j So looking forward to a good hour and half to myself before I return to teenagers camping in the garden over night:eek:

The PPI claim money has brought our mortgage end date forward by 10 months :)

Lots of bin bags lined up for charity shop drop off later to day and will have a stream of freeglers calling over weekend to pick up various bits and bobs. Cant even say light at end of tunnel yet :(

Switching round CCs to their latest 0% offers has worked well. Going to do some reassessment of things financial over weekend, planning for rest of year.

Whilst clearing out emails I came across one from April which was a reminder to pay for some books I bought for work back in February - forgotten all about them and had missed the email  So £47 duly paid by BACS and £47 less than I thought for this month :(
