Only managed a couple of PADs these last few days - have been pinned to house with a migraine which came out of nowhere - hmmmm more stressed than I thought ! Cant decide whether to move a CC to a low rate for life of balance or find another 0%.................Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

With concerted effort on planning and thinking and judicious use of vouchers and offers and also the desperate need to get around T*sco as fast as possible cos I sooooooooo hate shopping I got the weekly shop to under £40. Go meBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I also forgot to add............one very short phone call to HMRC - not using the expensive 08etc number - yielded another £100 being added to my tax allowance - professional fees which they had down as £60 /yr rather £160
Turns out its been like this for a while and I can have it back dated 4 years for the cost of a stamp and a few mins on the PC - result!

Think you've been misinformed there - the time limits for claiming refunds changed a year or two ago and the limit is now 4 years so now we're in2013:14 you can only claim back for 2009:10 - 2012:13. Still quick letter is well worth a return of £75-80!
Maybe keep a note to update HMRC each time your professional body increases their fees0 -

Looked at St£p Ch@nge today just out of interest - I knew I wouldnt qualify for any sort of DMP cos I earn a reasonable salary but it was an interesting exercise none the less - like to know where they get the £790 a month over after all bill paying/buying of essentials from:eek: will scrutinise it a bit closer - I did guess at some monthly bill payments but was on the generous side. Off work at moment cos have been proper poorly as they say - first day up and about for any length of time since Sunday
On the plus side I have saved about £60 in diesel this week - good job because I have just under £300 to last til next pay day.......now where is that £790:whistle:

Must be getting much better at this meal planning/budget thing...........only spent just over £24 today. Almost smug;) Only a few months ago £70 - £90 a week would have been normal and I would not have batted an eye lid!
Have moved 4K to a life of balance CC - spent a lot of time thinking about it so I hope I have done the right thing - time will tell I guess.
Garden seems to have got back its mojo...things are beginning to catch up and its looking lovely in its new spring livery - sparkly in the welcome sunshine after a drench from April showers. Rumour has it I have a birthday round about this time of year and I always remember as a child having daffodils in the garden on my birthday - party photos prove it! Over the last 15- 20 years the daffs have barely lasted til now and sometimes well and truly finished ........but not this yearBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Now I know one swallow does not a summer make................but I saw three today so maybe summer is a possibility?? Think it was a swallow - not very good at the identification of those swooping type birds - swift swallow martin. Made me smile anyway.
Money suddenly got very tight towards end of month - havent even been able to PAD. Do have some cheques to pay in from proceeds from some sales so thats good news - must do percentage paid add up soon too .Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Hey,
Hope you're on the mend now and feeling a bit brighter. I'm waiting for payday with trepidation to see whether or not my tax allowance rise is cancelled out by pension increases. Who knows? I'll find out Tuesday.Ninja Saving Turtle0
