Another fantastically gloriously sunny day here today. Another fantastically gloriously sleepless night and now have migraine which I am just about stemming to serious headache with the help of medication - really annoyed as I decide to save some 'must do' stuff to this weekend and as I was very lazy at the beginning of last week and got behind with other stuff I really am behind - one good thing OH has gone out for the day - snow covered mountains much too inviting and DD2 is out with friends so I do have the place to myself for a couple of hoursBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Thats 2 huge bin bags donated to Oxf*m - tagged for Gift Aid
Some other bits and bobs on Fr**gle. A box of things for Eb*y to be listed tomorrow. A bin bag dedicated to shoes and clothes for weighing in. Anything that can be recycled has been and a liberal donation to the wheelie bin of utter carp......think Spring cleaning may well be under way:D Have also found some loose change and popped that into various pots:rotfl:

Another one of those glorious sunny days - feeling a bit spoilt now but not complaining
Still plenty of snow in garden although green patches now appearing. OH and DD2 have headed off to hills so I have house all to my self again..............money( lack of it) and clutter ( too much of it) raised its ugly head this morning so today I will be be ruthless - and I though I did a pretty good job yesterday. I am better left to my own devices for these things.

When do teenagers realise that what their parents say make sense.........................maybe the moment they drop their lap top in the bath:eek: Since breaking that mirror earlier in the year its been one thing after another in this house hold - certainly finance wise.:( Having to claim on contents insurance as cant afford to buy a new one and the excess is certainly a lot less:mad:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Snow now just confined to the shaded areas of the garden and the birds are out and about catching up on nest building. The garden does look a little forlorn - flattened and washed out - some daffs have survived but a few other plants have not. Last year lost a lot to slugs. Dont see me replacing much due to cost so will be taking cuttings and splitting and swapping! Mind you what's a few plants to hundreds of livestock having perished in the mountains....area near us has lost a lot of mountain ponies
On the money front I am not having a good day thinking about it............low mood despite the sunshine. I'm still adjusting to the clock change - BST gets me every time! Will have to start to think about return to work soon - Its been a good break not to be thinking about it all the time but will be back on the treadmill soon enough.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Oh, priceless! Well that's cheaper and less stressful [for parents] than the pancaked first car, and non-fatal so also no where near as bad as for example, dropping a hair-dryer in the bath - therefore it could be much worse my dear (think all teens do something terminally stupid as part of the growing-up process)! ..Most of 'em survive thank goodness, and hopefully learn the lesson by having to save up for a replacement.
As you're being kind enough to claim it off your insurance, I do hope your teen will be paying the increase on your premium for the next five years!
Sorry Igamogam, don't mean to sound unsympathetic - this is the kind of event that will become a treasured family story in decades to come. It may help you now to plot revenge by planning how you'll tell the Teen's children what a stupid thing they did..
I'm mean - told all mine that their most embarrassing failures to listen to Mum will be regaled many times across the xmas dinner table. Funnily enough, my resulting stock of humerus anecdotes is pretty small.
ETA: Could your Teen try and source their own replacement laptop from Freecyc!e, or whatever your local equivalent is?0 -
Dont worry Robin - its a story that has been tucked away with embarrassing photos;)
Funny you should mention the premium thing...............I did a quick check and our premiums wont be affected well not in any great hike in cost especially as I tend to shop around and get cash back/bargain with company etc etc - just like the points on your licence thing for car insurance - its never been an issue with the insurance we have taken out - maybe we have just picked the right companies/policies??Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Spent the day on my own in work - creepy. Playground still under 3 ft of snow  think it will have gone before the cats return next week! Garden looking perkier today - the primroses have woken up
Money front: still plugging away at the PADs - need to make the balance transfer I have been putting off for a few weeks
